Firefox becomes unresponsive with 3 tabs open

What used to be a great browser is now a real pain. I am running v62.0.3 on Windows 7 Pro and i7 CPU. Mostly consistent is the problem when I have 3 or more tabs open in which case FF becomes very slow or even unresponsive. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing which didn't help.

As I am developing a web application, having a good working Firefox is critical.

I have attached a Resourse Monitor capture for the CPU. If there is anything else I can provide, please let me know. Also please include a direct email address that I can respond to.

Thanks,

Ray

PS: I also have 32 gigs of memory.

Oh, just a suggestion try to disable Norton security and you will notice that not only FF but all your system speed-up. I'm sorry to say but Norton is a real pain!

Hello, Other suggestion Try to open the new page in the new tab instead of new window Menu > Options > General >Tabs Check Open links in tabs instead of new windows Hope this help!

When I start FF, I then open only 3 tabs. Eventually FF becomes unresponsive! Surely someone at Mozilla knows the reason or how to troubleshoot? I am on FF v63.0.1 and Windows 7.

What Extensions do you have? ABP? I just switched to uBlock and it helped. ABP was contributing to my Memory Hog problem.

Do you notice improvement if you start FF in Safe Mode (see FF Help)?
