I can't update any plug-ins including Adobe and Crap Cleaner,also slow opening Thunderbird.

I'm using XP,all the Mozilla stuff opens slowly.and I can't open any of the plug-in updates.I seem to be able to download Adobe updates but I can't open them,the same with Crap Cleaner
