need bookmarks from Windows Firefox in Android

Yes Firefox recognized that I had an account already from long ago with Windows when I downloaded Firefox for Android on my phone. However, it did not bring the bookmarks that are old ones (many!!) that were continually saved in Windows forever (on a now-crashed PC) to this Android version. Are they not saved SOMEWHERE, since Firefox did recognize an existing account, tho' it was created years ago in Windows, not Android??? If they are yet somewhere, HOW do we get to them?? I mean it's the SAME web bookmarks, whether saved on Android or Windows.

PS * we never used anything but Firefox in Windows so they should be saved in Firefox somewhere (I hope!). Already tried that "sync" thing.  :-(

By the way when I said we never used anything but Firefox in Windows before, that was on a crashed PC. We're needing help with getting bookmarks from Firefox back then into the Android Firefox on the Android phone we now have.
