Any Tab I open, goes directly into a connecting / Newtab mode where it is constantly opening a new tab. It is stuck in that cycle. I have deleted all and reboot

For what ever reason it is stuck in a continuous loop of trying to open a new tab and connecting. I have deleted everything and anything I could find on my machine having to do with mozilla and re-downloaded and re-installed numerous times.

I am running a G5 Imac running 10.6.8

hello james, please try to reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks & passwords) and see if this can solve the issue:

Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

This doesn't work because FF does not stay on the page. If I load the reset page with in a second the page goes white and I get the loading page icon a t the top of the page. nothing is ever load, it just thinks that it is...

no way to stop the cycle at all...

How do I delete every single bit of firefox off of my machine. I nprobably need to wipe every single bit of it off and reload... So how do I do it!

Try to rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js files and a possible user.js file to reset all prefs to the default values.

Also delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

You can create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Seriously, I need to know how do I delete every single thing associated with Mozilla firefox... etc.

Is there an un-install program

hello, please try launching firefox in safe mode and see if the issue is occurring there too. in case it's working correctly, please go to firefox > addons > extensions and disable/remove any extension that look suspicious/you didn't install intentionally or that might interfere with the tab loading behaviour. you also might reset firefox from inside safe mode.
