I have used pop mail for ages, via windows live mail, using windows 10. Had a problem with live mail,it was suggested swap to Thunderbird, imap. did so, now I have my emails available on 4 different machines. It seems that with technological advances, my emails are now far more vulnerable than they once were. What I want is this. Open Thunderbird on my desk top, read, delete, file. nothing shared with my other machines. If I want to access my emails on my other machines, I want to do so via web mail only, which has worked very well for years. I want the machines " unsynced please " How do I do it, very simple steps please.

If you wanted POP why did you set your account up as IMAP? It probably defaults to IMAP if your provider supports it but you have the choice to use POP. If do not have or open any email client, including Thunderbird, on your other computers why do you think your email will sync on these other computers? If you use IMAP and make any changes to your email, including at the providers web mail site, those changes will be reflected everywhere. That is how the IMAP email standard works.
