Can't navigate a site - when I click on a category on the left, the screen grays out

So far, the only site I'm having a problem with is aliexpress.com. I can search in the search bar at the top of the site. But if I want to narrow my search before I use the search bar, I click on a category -- e.g., Women's Clothing (which on this site is listed in a column on the left), and the screen "grays out" and does nothing else. I do not have this problem in IE or MS Edge.
