Why Two Different Software Behaviors When Searching in Each of the Two Search Fields (Google and Other) Even If I Select Google

I installed Firefox a day or two ago. I notice that when I enter text in Firefox's search field that says "Google," I get a Security Message, (The information you have entered will be sent over an insecure connection and could be read by a third party...."yet when I enter text in the upper-right search field and select *Google* as my search tool, I do *not* get a Security Message. Why is the behavior different depending on whether I select the search field that has the "Google" name versus the plain vanilla search field but then select "Google" as part of my requested search. Does the Google-named-field's search results include non-secure listed items but the plain-vanilla one doesn't? Or does Firefox somehow add some sort of secure protection to the plain-vanilla search field? I really hate having two things (fields, buttons, etc.) that seem to serve the same purpose but have some differences that I can't explain. Please explain. Or please tell me how to remove the field that's named "Google." Is the search field that's in Firefox that's named "Google" an add-on that Google added into Firefox?
