Problem Viewing Page Source with External Editor

I have FireFox setup to open "View Source" in an external editor. It works fine 99% of the time, but there are certain specific pages (URLs) that either will (1) source will open in FireFox's own editor, or (2) will open a blank page in my external editor.

Examples:

View Source on this URL will not open in external editor, rather it opens in FireFox's internal editor: http://cyberangler.com/

View Source on this URL will open a blank page in the external editor: http://cyberangler.com/forum/

When viewing the source almost any other page within the cyberangler.com web site will open as expected in my external editor.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thanks for your reply.

I restarted FireFox in Safe Mode and there was NO CHANGE. The external editor continued to malfunction exactly as described above.
