
Sending M/S office files by email
I cannot send files by email from Microsoft office. I get an error message telling me, "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
Outlook is the default program in the Default Apps / Email section.

If you are using the file send from the menu of word the result you get will depend on what version of word you are using.
I am lead to understand that newer versions of Word can send files that way using something other than outlook. Early versions relied entirely on Outlook.
If Thunderbird is a 64bit version and your office applications are 32 bit, you may also be suffering from this bug. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1879717
