aol will not let me bring up firefox, IE, or Google;how can I correct this?

apparently I agreed in error to make AOL my default browser and now I am unable to access Firefox or IE or even Google; AOL has taken over and all steps I've tried to restore previous settings have failed. Would uninstalling AOL (keeping files intact) and then reinstalling it correct this situation??

Uninstalling should fix this problem.

You can set the Default Browser in Windows Control Panel > Programs -> Default Programs http://its.uiowa.edu/support/article/181

Thank you Edmeister. Unfortunately, although I've tried this solution over the past few days, it doesn't work in my case.. (I know, repeating the same action over and over and expecting different results is not the sign of genius) peterg29
