I have been getting 'message blocked due to spam content' errors trying to send messages for the last two months on messages as short as three words. Not all but over half of them.

I like the new support for Outlook. Thank you very much. This was the first year that I did not spend >16 hours rebuilding accounts each January. It is also nice that this support automatically transfered incoming emails to the Local Inbox.

Just recently, Spectrum Internet dropped POP3 support and I was able to setup IMAP.

Gee, It would be nice if there was just one more checkbox in the Account Setup which would automatically transfer IMAP messages to the Local Inbox.

Can this be added to the wish list?

Is there a way to search the message filters for a particular address? Each time I sign up to a site, they get a unique email alias, so I have about two hundred of them, along with associated sorting rules (the sorting of these filters is another issue, needs to be made easier). But sometimes I can't remember which filter takes care of the email address for a particular site. I sometimes need to make adjustments. It would be a pain to go through each filter, to find the one in question.

I have had the same signature attachment for several years on my Thunderbird email, but for the last week, new messages and replies are no longer bringing in the signature image for my emails. Additionally, if I go into settings and try to choose the signature as a reset mechanism, the 'choose' button does not react at all....does not go to file selection window where I can reselect the signature again. I can create a v-card, but it is also not attaching. The attached image appears as if everthing is set-up correctly, but the feature is not functioning. Please advise.

I haven't had my new email downloaded from my Yahoo mail accounts since 10/8/26. Occasionally, a few emails appear, but they are duplicates from earlier dates, as far back as about 9/27 or 9/28. I have emails from a gmail account that I appear to be getting in T-bird normally. Email seems to be getting through ok on webmail (Firefox, Windows 11). I'm also getting mail on Android (Galaxy S23, Yahoo mail app) and on iPad (also on Yahoo mail app.)

When Mozilla was started this morning it came up with a page to donate. When I try to go around it to get to my email folders that show I have new email, I cannot. I have tried restarting the computer and the same thing still happens. How can I get past this to see my emails?

I'm using Thunderbird in the dark mode. When I open the detail of an event in the agenda, the text is still written in black, on a gray background so this is not really readable (cf linked screen shot)

At some points I had similar issue with mails, but I found the little button "toogle dark mode for mail" that allow to keep the dark mode for thuderbird but show the mail with white background and black text.

Is there a similar functionality for the agenda ?

I can no longer attach messages to an email I am sending via the attach button. I can drag and drop but that is clunky. Using version 157.0.1 (64-bit) on PC running windows 11

Tried adding my outlook account, it said that the account settings are found automatically so when I left those options unedited and clicked continue it showed this error. Have no idea what went wrong though.

Short problem description: Gmail auth is running before the master password dialogue

Long description: When starting up, Thunderbird runs Gmail auth before the master password dialogue. This leads to a failure of the login when the user does not enter the password in time. The access token is not unlocked, auth fails, and a browser window will pop up with the gmail authentication dialogue, necessitating further user interaction and generating extra mails because TB will be reconnected with a regenerated token.

Expected behaviour: Authenticating email accounts being delayed, until the secret cache is unlocked with the master password.

I've been using Thunderbird for several years, but I still don't quite understand how it works. A week ago or so I was unable to add attachments to email and it was suggested to me that I should reinstall Thunderbird, and the claim was made that I would lose neither my email nor the settings. So I did reinstall Thunderbird and found out that all my Local Folders were gone and that I had to configure all my email accounts from scratch, which I did.

Since I regularly back up my home directory using the Ubuntu Backups app, I thought I could restore my Thunderbird data from a recent back-up. Following some advice I'd found on the internet, I restored the ~/.thunderbird directory from a recent backup and saved it at the desktop. Then I replaced the current ~/.thunderbird directory with the one restored from the back-up (cp -r ~/Desktop/.thunderbird/ ~/). When I re-launched Thunderbird, I noticed the following: (1) All the Local Folders that I had created in 2024 and before were restored, but not the more recent ones (i.e, the ones created in 2025 and 2026). (2) The restored Local Folders did not contain any emails dated after early September 2024, which I think is the time when I upgraded Ubuntu 22.04 to Ubuntu 24.04. Looking at the restored profile directory (~/Desktop/.thunderbird/cvb2eouj.default-release/Mail/Local\ Folders), I see that the missing Local Folders are not there, which makes me believe that the problem happened at the stage of making a back-up of my home directory rather than during the restoration process. Is it possible that the location of Thunderbird data moved from ~/.thunderbird elsewhere at the time when the transition to the snap version of Thunderbird took place in Ubuntu 24.04? If so, what is the new location? Knowing the names of some of the missing Local Folders, I have tried to search for them in my home directory, but found none (find /home/<user name>/ -name <name of a missing Local Folder> -print).

I also wonder whether I could use backup data that were created at the time when I uninstalled whatever version of Thunderbird I had prior to clean installation of Thunderbird 157.0. I recall that uninstallation took a lot of time because a back-up was being created (sudo snap remove thunderbird). I have no idea where that back-up was saved, however.

So now I have Thunderbird 157.0 installed and configured on Ubuntu 26.04, I can send and receive e-mail in all my accounts, but Local Folders created after September 2024 are missing, and the ones that exist contain only relatively old emails (older than September 2024).

I would appreciate help and ideas on how to restore the missing Local Directories and emails from home directory backups.

I'm trying to add an email account to Thunderbird that (seems to) require Oauth2 authentication, but it keeps opening the wrong provider in the Firefox window that it launches. The email account is a professional G-Suite address, but it always opens login.microsoft.com instead.

I've checked the MX record for the domain and it correctly lists Google servers, and my laptop was able to authenticate to the correct destination just fine. I have used my desktop for work before, which is all handled through Microsoft accounts, so I suspect that there's some kind of locally cached data which is identifying O365 as the provider, but I can't find any relevant settings or documentation from Firefox. I also cannot find any settings or controls for the Oauth provider in Thunderbird in order to force a Google workflow.

I use emojis in email, but recipients report that the text of the email arrives covered with emojis. I thought it was a problem with the receiver until a second person just reported the same issue with an email I sent them. Both are gmail accounts . . .

When i write a email and i attempt to join a file (CTR+MAJ+A or join button + File), nothing happens. It's the first time that i encounter this issue. I try to reinstall thuderbird but it was without effect on this issue.

Is it a new bug on this version ? Thanks

I’m having trouble logging in to my Thunderbird account on my laptop. My password doesn’t work, and when I click “Log in,” I’m redirected to a website, but I still can’t access my account. It also seems like Thunderbird doesn’t recognize or find my account at all. Instead of allowing me to log in, I’m being told to join some kind of waitlist, which doesn’t make sense because I already have an account and need to access it. I urgently need to use my account for work, so I would really appreciate any help with recovering access and getting Thunderbird to recognize my existing account.

Connection error: Certificates. Works, doesn't work Thunderbird 157 intermittently fails to connect to imap.shaw.ca:993 with SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER. It affects two separate Shaw email accounts, while Shaw Webmail continues to work normally.

Installed a week ago to replace MS365/ outlook Worked fine. But now it's acting up. Both my Shaw emails as well as my wife's email on her computer.

This does not happen with my domain emails.
