Firefox for Android intermittently gets stuck in landscape orientation after the app has been in the background and is resumed. This does not happen every time, but occurs frequently enough to be noticeable during normal daily use. Once stuck, the orientation does not recover automatically. Note:

Happens only after switching to another app and returning later Does not happen on fresh app launch System auto-rotate continues to work in other apps Sensors appear to work correctly

Recovery The only reliable way to recover is: Force closing Firefox from Recents Reopening the app

Device: Samsung Galaxy S25 OS: Android 16 One UI: 8 Firefox version : latest as on playstore Navigation: Gesture navigation Auto-rotate enabled system-wide

Firefox for Android performance issues when using web-based emulators

Hi everyone,

I’m using Firefox for Android on a fairly recent device and wanted to ask about performance when running web-based applications that are a bit heavier than normal websites.

Specifically, when using browser-based emulation tools or interactive web apps, I notice higher memory usage, occasional tab reloads, and sometimes audio or input lag after a few minutes. This doesn’t always happen on simpler sites, so it feels related to how Firefox handles long-running JavaScript and WebAssembly workloads on Android.

I wanted to ask:

Are there any recommended Firefox settings or flags to improve performance for heavier web apps?

Is Firefox for Android known to aggressively suspend tabs under memory pressure?

Would using private tabs, disabling certain features, or changing about: config settings help in this case?

I’m mainly trying to understand whether this is expected behavior or if there are optimizations I can apply.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
