Hi, I opened Firefox to continue with my work, just to get greeted with a 'start a new profile' page. All my profiles, saved data, history, add-ons and customization, were discconected/removed. Even on my phone it logged me out from my account- logging back in doesnt retrieve my history from my previous sessions on my desktop device.

I tried logging in to my account, checking if theres an 'old firefox' folder on my device or anything like that, but it did not retrieve any of my old data.

Just to clarify, I have not played around with my settings, left or deleted anything, so I really dont understand why I've just came back to nothing.

Was wondering why this happened, how do I know this won't happen in the future, and if, when possible, how can i get all my data back?

I read the existing articles and followed them, starting with "manage bookmarks". When I click on restore, there is a list of the last 15 backups by date. EVERY one of them results in an error message "unable to process the file".

Manually searching for bookmarks.html or json, resulted in nothing found at first. Then I discovered the path to the bookmarks folder were all hidden folders (after the 'user' folder). I got them to display in file explorer ('show hidden files' selected) and tried to manually select the JSON files that way, to restore bookmarks. That also did not work, resulting in the same message depicted below.

It looks like my firefox profile got corrupted during a power outage is there a way to repair it or at the very least get back my opened tabs? I had lot of them and it will take a long time to find them all again...

with this new version i lost everything i need to get back to an older version and get all my extentions my bookmarks back all my s desktop items that i had linked to firefox are gone i can no longer get face book or anything back to firefox book marks every thing i had with firefox

Listen I have a profile in another partition in Mint and want to transfer my Bookmarks/profile etc to my new 22.3 install but far too complicated. I also have a previous Key which I no longer wish to use as it has deleted all 20 years worth of messages. Please please please just set up my profile again oFirefox or then revert by to the one from 2025 Mint 21.3 Thomas McM Rbold textamos de Deus

UNBELIEVABLE, I've never had this much trouble with a previous update. Your AUTOMATIC update closed all web pages that were open last session, offers no option to restore previous session, and took me 2 hours just to get bookmarks back. I had way too many pages open, but I have lost some important research for work that was in process. Multiple support options didn't work until I found one that would for bookmarks, but the history seems to be unretrievable. Not how i wanted to spend my morning.

when I clicked on firefox icon today, bing browser appeared and I was not able to use firefox until I downloaded firefox again. I would like to restore the firefox I was using, I had several windows open and my passwords stored there. please advise

Since I upgraded to you, I am having trouble accessing important and medical info. I would like you to put every thing the way it was before. Easy access. You erraced some of my passwords, I want them back. I spend hours trying to find my info. I am 80 yrs old and do not need this aggravation. Thank you Moira

All of my bookmarks; hundreds of them, disappeared from the folders that appear along the top of the task bar and the folders are now empty. I cannot locate a backup file which is supposedly saved automatically and the appearance of a folder on my desktop titled "old Firefox data" doesn't help resolve the situation. I need help recovering these book marks if possible.
