The Adobe Acrobat Add-On Extension for Firefox was missing so I attempted to add it from Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017. I have had to do this manually by installing from the adobe_acrobat-1.0-windows.xpi file. This usually has worked. When i tried to add it this time is said the add-on file was corrupt.

I tried uninstalling and redownlading AdobeAcrobatPro 2017 thinking this would add an uncorrupted file and got the same the same message. Unfortunately, because I had used the Adobe license key too many times for Acrobat 2017 on my computer I had to upgrade to Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020. i had hoped this would solve the problem. But no, I get the same message corrupt file message even with a new copy of the Acrobat Pro 2020.

What is going on? Can anyone help with this?

I mistakenly dragged a text from a search box and dropped it on my browser page. If this text is a url (Ex: www.some_site.com), Firefox will navigate to that page. How do I prevent Firefox from opening dropped links on pages?

Hello I am constantly switching between Bookmarks and Tree Style Tab in the sidebar. The toolbar button "Show sidebars" is fine for switching between sidebar displayed or not, but switching between Bookmarks and Tree Style Tab is not so convenient : i have to go through the small menu and select either Bookmarks or Tree Style Tab, which is two clicks and a mouse move away, boring when you are constantly switching... Is there a way to add a second toolbar button to do this switching (or have two buttons, one for Bookmarks and one for Tree Style Tabs) ? Hope someone has a solution, thanks in advance. Alain Coste

I have to use Firefox Developer Edition in order to run an addon a custom addon that I made. The only quirk I don't like is having to see "Firefox Developer Edition" in the taskbar. I notice that it only displays this text from the home page and then changes once I a web page is in focus. How can I change the taskbar title text of the new tab/home page so that it just says "Firefox"?

I have Firefox currently installed on my Windows 10 computer as a backup browser. Normally I don't run it and it isn't the default browser. However, for the past couple of days the Firefox Crash Reporter keeps popping up when I don't even have Firefox running. I can't see anything running in the Task Manager that looks as if it might be related to Firefox. Why on earth does this keep happening?

Firefox default website and all Firefox log ins are discarded from my FF account and are replaced by Microsoft with settings in Edge and the dreaded Bing. My default web browser is FF and has been for many years. Can I save my FF data to somewhere in FF so that my info is safe from MS and Google?

I have several problems with firefox lately. I loved it and I have it for years. It kept all my passwords, more than 100. A few days ago firefox totally crashed on my side, it did not want to start any site, while on the same computer other browsers stated them. After I realized this I deleted the firefox and uploaded again. Now it works almost for all site (but for example not for booking) but I lost almost all my passwords:( I have now just 23 but lost many many. How can I get them back?

I'm trying to use a security key for my Vanguard site. I've tried with Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Chrome. I can get to almost the end but get stopped-- I can't get no father to "connect and activate." I get a message saying--"Vanguard is requesting extended information about your security key which may affect your privacy. Firefox can anonymize this for you but the website might decline this key. If declined try again." I talked to Vanguard for help but they didn't know how to help. The key is uTrust FIDO2 NFC. USB-A NFC Certified Security Key. I believe the problem may be that this key will link all my accounts in Firefox ( and will also link if I use any other browser.)

Using an authenticator for one account is safe, but allowing a website to ask for extended information for multiple accounts using the same authenticator can permit that website to identify a link between those accounts. If you are concerned about having accounts linked together in this way, you should either deny extended information when prompted, or use different authenticators for the different accounts. This linkability is based on the authenticators, and not on your browser. If you use the same authenticator with different browsers, websites can still identify a link between multiple accounts. Several commands do not have corresponding keybindings. In particular, the ones I'm interested in are "Go one word to the left/right" as shown in the attached image.

Is there a reason why these are left out? Firefox is the only program on MacOS, that I have encountered, where it is impossible to have the caret skip words forward/backwards.

I can use Karabiner-Elements to fix whatever weirdness might exist, but not if Firefox has no way to actually trigger that command, nor a way to rebind keys in order to do so either.

Maybe I've missed something obvious.

PS: Writing this was annoying, exactly for the reason explained. The weird thing is that CTRL+backspace is the only "make key X operate on a whole word instead of a single character" that actually works. For example, "backspace" removes a single character in text edit fields. "ctrl+backspace" would remove the whole word.

PPS: I don't care too much if the modifier key is CTRL or CMD. I can rebind that. I just need it to either be *something*, or that one can set it to *something.

I have been using FF for years and now they have changed by adding a Search DDG bar in the menu bar. I use the customize menu/tool bar to add things I use daily. The Search bar For DDG takes uo the room for customized icons and are displaced by this search bar. Why can't we change this as a search bar above the menu bar???

Second time I am writing this. The first try upped and vanished when I was in "Troubleshooting" I believe. When FF starts up on this Win-11 laptop, left 25% of FF screen is obscured by popups concerned with articles in PC-Gamer. There must be some setting that will turn them off?

My bookmarks/settings bar on my PC now only displays the address bar. The search bar, which I regularly used, has vanished and I can't find a way to restore it. A reset to default does not help. Thank you in advance for any help.

So, my old computer recently broke, but I luckily recovered all my files. I was re-downloading Firefox onto this computer, but my bookmarks and add-ons and stuff won't sync. When I searched for the solution to this, I saw someone having a similar-ish problem (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1403774#answer-1563248), but they just said they had to wait awhile for it to sync. Now, I have a couple questions that I can't seem to get the answer to:

1. How long does it take to sync my data? How long did that person have to wait?

2. What if it never syncs and that person just got lucky? Is there some sort of alternate way to fix this faster?

I'd really appreciate help on this topic, but I'm not the best with computers. If anyone has had this problem, and figured it out, please let me know! I had a lot of bookmarks and a good amount of add-ons, I really would like to not lose those.

Hey guys, as the title states I Can’t find any setting to set a default camera or microphone across the whole browser.

Firefox automatically chooses the wrong ones when I live stream. Former chrome user and all chromium based browsers allow you to set a default camera and microphone from a list of the available ones for the browser to automatically choose every time a site accesses them.
I just want to set it to always automatically use my obs virtual camera and always automatically choose my virtual audio cable, persistently. Is there truly no way to adjust this? It is such a basic setting that’s been around forever on the other side. Is there at least some complicated hidden way to adjust this?

Seems like the newest Firefox update (131.0) changed the way my Home Page (on the new tab) looks. WHY??

Now there's a giant logo taking up a fifth of the vertical space, forcing me to scroll to see my shortcut icons. WHY????

Oh, and the shortcut icons are now spaced farther apart and are significantly smaller. WHY????????

I set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.logowordmark.alwaysVisible to false but the logo is still present.

Please revert these changes. Or, if someone could provide me with some tips on how to edit the userchrome.css or whatever, that would be great.
