Dear Developer,

Please add an option in Settings to select a default external download manager (e.g. 1DM+, ADM, etc.) for all downloads. Currently, Firefox shows the "Download file with" chooser every time. It would be much more convenient if users could enable an "Always use selected external downloader" option, so downloads are sent directly to the chosen app without displaying the chooser each time. This would make downloading faster and provide a smoother user experience. Thank you for considering this feature.❤

I am suddenly getting ads across websites in Spanish, and my Amazon account flipped to Spanish. I used several IP geolocation services which identified my IP address is assigned to Mozilla Corporation in Queretaro, Mexico, despite my Mozilla VPN being designated United States. How do I solve this problem?

When I want and try to print a document that I've accessed from a website with my Firefox browser, the print options in the box on the right side of my screen is grayed out for printing in color and I can only print in black & white. I have a Brother laser color printer. This is a relatively new problem. I don't know why the color print function is grayed out. I couldn't get a good answer from a Brother tech when I called them on this problem.

Hello,

I'm encountering a highly frustrating issue with Firefox. Even though the "Open previous windows and tabs" option is checked in my settings, it is completely ignored on startup. Firefox systematically opens to a blank tab or home page.

Here are the key details and what I've already checked:

  • The Ctrl + Shift + T shortcut works perfectly: This proves Firefox is saving my session and history; it's only the automatic loading on startup that is being blocked.
  • In about:config, the preference browser.startup.page is correctly set to 3.
  • My privacy settings are standard: Firefox is set to "Remember history" and the "Clear history when Firefox closes" box is unchecked. I am not in permanent Private Browsing mode.
  • The Windows shortcut I use to launch Firefox is clean (no forced URL at the end of the target path).
  • I close Firefox cleanly via the menu, and I've verified that no ghost processes are stuck in the Task Manager after closing.

It makes no sense since the parameter is hardcoded but gets bypassed on launch. Is there a specific file (sessionstore or otherwise) that could be corrupted and blocking the automatic load without blocking the manual restore?

Thanks in advance for your help, I'm out of ideas!

Hopefully, this gets you a fast and highly technical answer. Hang in there!

Hello all,

I can see that I can access hidden tabs from firefox menu > History > Hidden Tabs. I have non hidden tabs in my permanent session that is saved/reload whenever I close/open Firefox.

I searched in the support section of Mozilla and found that I can use extensions to hide tabs and find these hidden tabs through History > Hidden Tabs to access or simply unhide any of those tabs.

My question is what would be the benefit of hiding any tab? For privacy? If so, is hiding tabs really efficient to protect tabs content and/or browsing history?

I could see that some extensions offer to protect hidden tabs with a password and even automatically unload tabs upon hiding them.

Thanks in advance to shed some light on this hiding feature.

Why 152.0.5 win64 installer SIGNIFICANTLY larger than win32 installer? >115.16esr on Windows 10 warning?

Up until version 141, the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit Firefox installers wasn't noteworthy, though it has clearly been slowly increasing overtime. However, starting from version 141, the difference between them doubled from 5MB to 10MB, meaning a nearly 13.5% larger installer for the 64bit version than the 32bit one.

Why is that? What happened? Are there are feature differences that would warranty such a large gulf in their installer sizes? It's the AI isn't it? 32bit users were spared the bloat of the AI.

I also see that starting from 115.16 Firefox suggests users that aren't on Windows 7-8.1 or MacOS 10.12-10.14 should use other versions. Given both x86 and Windows' immense reputation surrounding backwards compatibility, is this really a concern? Is there REALLY something supported by Windows 7-8.1 that wouldn't function on 10?

I'm still using the old browser because the new browser, the one before that popped up today, doesn't work well on my old desktop computer. New one today requested to move passwords from cvs file and bookmarks from an html file. When I tried to search for these things my computer couldn't find them. But when I went back to the old browser, all bookmarks passwords are there.

Why is Firefox asking me to perform these functions anyway? There is no explanation as to what this is. Is programming at Mozilla really gone downhill so quickly that they forgot how to make their service user friendly?
