Recently any web site that runs Java scripts will not load in my browser unless I have VPN turned on. The web sites used to load with no problem. I don't know what's going on. Can anyone help me with this issue. ML

Had to restore entire backup image of C: (boot) SSD that was saved on an external USB drive. I had been using FF 156, but the image restored FF 155. My FF profile is always stored on D: (internal HDD).

I launched FF and got a message that my profile was created with a newer version of FF and might not be compatible. The only option was to create a new profile or exit. I created a new profile but when FF opened I had no direct access to my existing profile on D: HDD. It wasn't listed when I clicked the Profiles button on the toolbar.

Came across a site that said to run Start>Run>firefox.exe - P. A box opened that listed both the newly created profile and my existing one on D: HDD. I selected the profile on D: and FF launched without any problems - everything fully restored. So if the existing profile is compatible, why was it so difficult to select it?

How 'bout this..? When FF detects that an existing profile was made with a newer FF version than currently running, why not give the user the option to install the latest FF update on that same message screen, in addition to the option to create a new profile? Then just relaunching FF after the update should allow an existing profile to be selected/used. Obviously existing profiles are compatible with FF updates since everything still works after routine updating.

Exact same thing happened with Thunderbird after reimaging C: because an older version was restored. I tried running thunderbird,exe -P without knowing if that would even work, and it easily allowed me to restore all 5 of my mailbox profiles with thousands of emails that are stored on D: in seconds.

Please make things easier...!

Video is sent from my iPhone to Google Photos. The videos are perfect on the camera but washed out and streaked yellow/white when I watch them on the computer, which is Windows 11 . They have that overexposed look. This is an all of a sudden issue. I have never had this problem before. I am able to see the videos using Chrome with no issue. I've updated what I can and nothing seems to work. Anyone having the same issue? Also, some of the older videos that were fine are displaying in the same way now.

I get the window shown in the attached image when I launch Firefox now that I have updated from the ESR 140 versions to the ESR 153 versions.

If I click OK, it takes me into Firefox but it appears that the settings in my auto config are not being set suggesting that the configuration file that cannot be read is the firefox.cfg file that the instructions for auto configure (https://mzl.la/3pb4w0I) tell one to create with all the settings. It appears that the autoconfig.js file that is in "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref" is being read correctly as the two settings show properly in about:config.

I have set the specs on autoconfig.js to have be:

• end of line as LF and not the Windows/DOS standard of CRLF,
• the text encoded in UTF-8, and
• I have tried with BOM and non-BOM.

I have also tried these specs on the firefox.cfg file even though the the auto configure instructions do not say what specs to use on that file.

As I mentioned, things worked fine while I was using Firefox ESR 140.x, where x could be completion of any of the valid version numbers. Now that I have upgraded to Firefox ESR 153.x, this problem seems to have surfaced.

From the auto configure instructions, firefox.cfg is to be placed in "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox", however, in doing a web search, I came across and article on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/2023fix-firefox-failed-read-configuration-file-error-andrew-m) from about three years ago that indicates firefox.cfg is to be in the same directory as autoconfig.js. Given it worked as described in the auto configure instructions before ESR 153, I figured this was wrong but tested it anyway by moving the firefox.cfg file. It changed nothing.

This is a problem for all my users on each of their individual domain accounts. I have tested and it makes no difference whether I'm running it on a Win10 or a Win11 computer.

I am using auto config for those settings that cannot be changed through Group Policy.

I've used Firefox on MacBook Pros since 2009. In the past there were ways to add shortcuts to websites to the Firefox Home Page. That capability is now badly degraded.

I'm running FF 156.0 on macOS Tahoe 26.7 on an M4 MAX MBP-16

Problem #1: The Firefox Homepage in one of the accounts on my MBP has 4 Rows of 6 icons each, for a total of 24. On another account it has 4 rows of 8 icons each for a total of 32. I want to increase the number of shortcut icons to 32 on the page which has 24, but I cannot find a way to do it.

Problem #2: I can't find a way to ADD a shortcut to a website to the Firefox Home Page. I'd done that many times without much difficulty about 4 years ago. (I don't want to do this by editing the name and the URL of an existing Home Page Icon.)

Should start up with my gmail account. I get only a blank screen, then that closes and I get the restart now message. Sometimes this happens with facebook but main problem is I can't get into my gmail account

Problem originates when trying to log-in to Spotify account at https://accounts.spotify.com. The next page in the log-in sequence, a Captcha screen, is blocked and a red bar under "Welcome back" is displayed with the text "Oops! Something went wrong, please try again or take a look at our help area" - see the attached screenshot

Clearing the browser cache, restarting Firefox, disconnecting a VPN, or disabling browser extesions had no effect. Enhanced Tracking Protection is set at Standard.

Clearing the browser caches again and running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode disabled all extensions but delivered the same outcome - a red bar and the next page blocked.

This appears to be specifically an issue within Firefox or its settings as Spotify is accessible using Edge (which I prefer to keep in the box) with the same extensions enabled and a VPN connected.

Is there a setting that is causing access to the Captcha screen?

All my passwords are updated, Firefox is updated, computer is updated, I've restarted both my PC and Firefox, and I've double-checked that all the username and passwords are saved to the most recent. Usually when I click the area where you'd enter your username or password, it would prompt you to click and have it autofill. Hasn't been happening at all for me. Sometimes if I right click it then it'll give me the option to select it but it rarely gives me that option. I've been manually entering both and there would be a chance it prompts to autofill at least the password. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or maybe overlooking an option? I do have everything switched on in settings for it to autofill on it's own but it still doesn't do it like it used to. Is there anything I might be overlooking or completely missing?

My previous card that was linked to my account was cancelled due to fraudulent activity so I am removing it as a payment method from various services. Under Manage Payment Methods, I only see the option to add new cards/payment methods or edit them (i.e. change the expiration date, zip code, etc.). However, there doesn't seem to be an option to delete payment methods. How do I delete a saved card under my account?

When I was running a game and updated my graphics card driver, Firefox was running in the background. My PC went completely black and became unresponsive, so I had to force‑restart the computer.

After rebooting, Firefox reverted to a brand‑new fresh‑install state. All my browser settings, login status, local profiles, browsing sessions, hundreds of open tabs and my categorized tab groups disappeared, only the welcome startup guide showed up.

I logged into my Mozilla account on my Android Firefox device. Some browsing history was synced back. However, synced history cannot restore the original tab session back‑forward page history, nor my manually sorted tab groups. All browser preferences, theme and language settings are also lost.

I originally had 4 separate local Firefox profiles on this Windows computer, isolated from each other for different work purposes. Only one profile was logged‑in to my Mozilla account and could partially sync data. The other three local profiles are completely gone. Those extra local profiles were NOT signed into any Mozilla account and were never synced to cloud storage.

In my Mozilla account’s connected devices list, there are two entries both belonging to this same computer: “MARSHAKK” and “Firefox by Administrator on MARSHAKK”, which correspond to my Firefox instance before and after the crash.

I cannot understand the community help articles about session recovery, and I’m unable to locate or restore my old local Firefox profiles and lost tab sessions by myself. Please give me assistance.

Facebook loads in and then becomes a blank empty page unable to read the feed, this is a new problem that started today, it runs on other browsers and my phone but not on Mozilla.

Facebook not loading but I have one game that will load to play. None of the others work. When it first goes to home page it will seem fine but then goes black and acts like it's trying to load. To view Facebook, I have to go to Edge (shivers). Please fix asap.

I currently have an Android mobile phone, and I use Firefox for Android as my main browser.

Could anyone please tell me how I could change from Firefox for Android to Google, please?

I have tried to change the default browser, but am met with a screen saying Firefox.

I have been asked by my employer to process a form of ID, and it only works with Safari and Google. Safari is obviously out, but how to set Google as my default, please?
