There is a bug which was reported 3 month ago https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1959157. It appeared out of nowhere and I don't even know if it was fixed since then. But it is bugging me a lot, no pun intended. Any help would be appreciated.

No idea if this is the right topic or not but I've been dealing with this frustrating issue where with some websites it just loads a blank white screen. I've tried every fix I could that I've seen on forums like this as well as on Reddit and nothing I've tried has fixed it. From launching in Safe Mode or changing things in about:config. Before finishing this post I tried launching in safe mode, so my add-ons and plugins are disabled and it still persists with websites loading in these blank white screens. I never had this issue at first and I'm sure it started to happen after an automatic update a while back.

I need this issue sorted out so I can look and compare items from shops but most of the time a website that works and I look at it elsewhere I'm dealing with this issue. No issue looking at stuff on the internet on my phone, though I do use safari instead on my phone.

I have been using FireFox for very many years. I have used the Search Bar to search -- NOT the Address Bar -- for as long as it has been available.

But the Search Bar doesn't work anymore. I enter something and nothing happens. I have tried several different search engines. Google, DuckDuckGo, and Brave. Same results.

I am well-trained to use the Search Bar. It is completely instinctual. It is very jarring to find it not working and then have to try again using the Address Bar. Again and again.

Further, I absolutely HATE it when a Text Input Field is used to do different functions like this depending on what I enter.

Is this by design? I.e. are they getting rid of the Search Bar? Or is it a bug?

If it's not a bug, I don't get it. Why would Mozilla antagonize the few users they have left? Further, why would they waste the few resources they have left to do something like this?

Since your last upgrade, I have been able to get into any sites using CloudFlare security. Prior to that I had no problems at all. I have tried closing extensions and or clearing cookies. I especially want access to my banking account. How can I disable whatever was added to effect CloudFlare? CloudFlare either continues to cycle, or gives an error message.

Hi Fresh reinstall WIn10Pro home office pc -- want to ensure OS (WIn10pro x64) doesn't alter behind the scenes.

Want to prevent MScopilot or other rogue AI is not hiding changes unclear/unknown to user. Pc Admins and also PC std users

Have FF v140 syncing to a Msoutlook userid and have donated under that id. The donwloaded install was done via a private window as Edge had to be used.

New installs of everything. Full virus scans etc. latest updates. But still seems like MS trying to prevent using FF unaltered.

Is it best to set up a profile and then disconnect sync; then reset FF periodically and turn sync back on? Some IT people said they've done that for a while.

Are local windows users not supposed to be able to save FF settings?

Are we inviting in MS by syncing and/or donating to Mozilla / Firefox with outlook.com addresses?

Thanks.

'S (DeviantArt) March 12, 2025 12:03 PM (UTC-07:00) Hey!

Thanks for reaching out.

It appears that there has been an update with the Firefox browser that may be affecting your autofill for logging in to different websites.

Please reach back out if you have any other questions that we can assist you with.

Best, S | DeviantArt'

Now, it seems to ONLY affect deviantart.com I can't get past entering my user name and when I do, by actually typing in my user name, it says the password is bad.

NOW, If I type over what shows as my user name, then it allows me to get to the password, if I type the password in over the dots, it lets me in.

Microsoft Edge works just fine with the saved passwords.

BUT I prefer to use Firefox Browser for nearly everything.

I am evaluating a password manager application and exported my FF passwords and imported them into the app. For testing I removed all of the passwords from FF. I want to password protect the csv file rather than delete it in case I need to import the passwords back into FF. When I go to File/Info, the "Protect Workbook" option is greyed out. When I go to the "Review" tab, the option to "Protect Workbook" is available, not the "Unprotect" option, so the workbook is not protected. If I click on the "Share" folder on the right side of the ribbon, there is no "More" option. In Windows Explorer the file is on my desktop, not OneDrive - Personal. I right clicked on the file, selected "Give access to" and took the option to remove access. The File/Info option is still greyed out. How can I password protect this file or how can I export it in a format that can be imported later?

Revert custom search engines location to bottom of search bar

After updating Firefox yesterday, when I use the search bar, switching between my custom search engines can only be done via clicking on a drop down menu at the left end of the search bar and selecting one with the mouse cursor. Previously, I could select my preferred search engine by using the up or down keys to cycle through them while typing a search, then hitting enter when the one I wanted was highlighted. Having to switch from keyboard to mousepad while typing a search is really annoying, I found the old way much more convenient. Is there a way to revert this, and put the search engines back at the bottom of the search suggestions, where I can access them with arrow keys?

Also, when I search now, the search stays in the search bar instead of changing to a URL, and I have to click a little internet globe icon at the right end of the bar for it to show the URL. This is also kind of annoying. Is there a way to turn this off, and just set it to show the URL every time?

New address bar "https trimming" behavior

Hi everyone,

I'm on 140.0.2 / Win10

My current about:config:

browser.urlbar.trimHttps false browser.urlbar.trimURLs true browser.urlbar.untrimOnUserInteraction.featureGate false

I noticed the new https trimming, but when I double-click (e.g. to select a word in the URL) to copy or change a part, the https pops back, shifting where my cursor is relative to where it was, which is annoying for having to reposition the cursor.

Disabling `browser.urlbar.trimURLs` should make sense to revert to no-trimming, but it didn't work.

`browser.urlbar.untrimOnUserInteraction.featureGate` being false already shouldn't have caused the issue I described.

Many thanks in advance!

When I go into Settings, I see the following message at the top:

"Your browser is being managed by your organization."

I've never seen this before. Going into about:policies, this is what I see:

ImportEnterpriseRoots

It's the only one there. My searches have told me that this should only appear if you're not an admin and it's on a work computer. But I am the admin and my computer is a home one, not a work one so this message shouldn't be there. I have looked up around here to find out how to disable/remove this and I did the following:

I found and followed these solutions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1434356 https://winaero.com/remove-your-browser-is-being-managed-by-your-organization-from-firefox/ https://www.minitool.com/news/firefox-your-browser-is-managed-by-your-organization.html

Where I made a backup of the Registry and went in to delete ImportEnterpriseRoots. I restarted Firefox afterwards, and when I checked it was removed. I restarted my computer just to be sure that it was removed, but upon restart the message appeared again and ImportEnterpriseRoots reappeared.

I then checked out these solutions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-disable-enterprise-roots-preference https://support.mozilla.org/eu/questions/1313379

Where I go to about:config the "security.certerrors.mitm.auto_enable_enterprise_roots" can be disabled, but the "security.enterprise_roots.enabled" is grayed out and I can't disable it at all. The solution above mentions that this can be caused by your anti virus. I tried disabling "https scanning" and "QUIC/http3" under Norton's Safe Web option, but this did nothing. I'm planning on removing Norton soon once my sub runs out and I know Norton is doing this to Firefox, so I'm concerned that if I don't remove this when I do an uninstall it will screw up Firefox or my computer. I've tried asking the Norton forums and they only offered the solutions above that I tried and they didn't work at all.

How do I remove the "Your browser is being managed by your organization." message and ImportEnterpriseRoots from Firefox if these solutions don't work?
