My installation of 32-bit Firefox 102 had been repeatedly crashing, sometimes for no apparent reason. I decided to download the 64-bit version of Firefox 102, uninstalled the 32-bit version, carried out a standard installed and all this appeared successful. I noticed that I was getting a lot of advertisements and remembered that I had had Ghostery installed as an extension in my 32-bit Firefox. I went to the extensions page, selected Ghostery and asked for it to be added. Shortly after that, I got a message that the installation had been aborted because the extension might be corrupt. I tried again and got the same message. I tried another ad blocker, and got the same message with that one; and tried a third with the same result. What is going on? I haven't changed any settings in Firefox since the standard installation, and the extensions were from the Firefox source, so how can the extensions be corrupt? If it isn't corrupt, why isn't Firefox installing it?

I noticed during a firmware download with the file extension .DAT that Firefox removed the extension. The file was not recognizable during an attempted firmware upgrade afterward. This is a new issue occurring sometime in the past several months, since last firmware update. Firefox preferences are set to download .DAT files. No other settings are listed for that file extension. I verified the issue points toward Firefox by checking the download with another web browser which completed the download with the extension.

Hello,
I've recently encountered a curious issue with my Firefox browser (Firefox version 102.0, Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.25145.1011). At seemingly random times it will freeze for between two and five minutes (roughly). UI elements become completely unresponsive and the cursor does not update when moving over the browser window. The window will not minimize. Yet, Windows Task Manager does not report the application as being unresponsive. While never a common problem, any freezes in the past would eventually cause the Windows Task Manager to identify it as unresponsive.
I have disabled "recommended performance settings" and hardware acceleration to no avail. Everything seems perfectly normal immediately before and after the freezes, and I've yet to identify how I can trigger them. I do not recall having made any changes to my browser before the freezes started occurring, though multiple Windows updates have taken place since then. If I'm too impatient to wait I will end the Firefox processes via Windows Task Manager and restart it so I can return to my tabs without having cookies deleted. I have 13 plugins mainly covering privacy/security concerns. Is there some sort of debug tool I can engage to see what's occupying Firefox while it's frozen? I've just found the Firefox Task Manager, and will see if it can offer any additional information during/after the freezes.
Thanks, Logan

Hi, good day/evening you all. Hey with a temporary disability I have a real need to limit my mousing and would love to see a feature request I could give a thumbs up on -- for the 3 line menu at the top right being accessible via keyboard. (Also at least some of the choices on it such as History via a hotkey -- after I have the main menu open. By the way I know about pressing Alt, then any of the hotkeys on the old school hidden menu bar -- I'm instead talking about the new always visible hamburger menu icon.)
Where would I search to see if there's been any discussion or progress on that? Bugzilla?
Sorry I'm new to this type of questioning. Any tips would be greatly appreciated and my body would appreciate it too! :-)

As my computer skills are not great my question is can any of the old data/bookmarks be retrieved? And if so
how in very simple terms/pictures.

I am very non-techy so any straightforward suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to decide if I want to pay to get it fixed or go to the hassle of re-setting all my passwords. ;)
Thanks!

Since latest version update of Fire Fox, I'm unable to sign into OUTLOOK. I get to the Sign-in Screen, but when I toggle to enter password, page starts to reload login name/password, but page never loads. Tried multiple times in Fire Fox, but launching MS - EDGE I can get logged in and going immediately. Please advise.
Here's where it gets stalled:

Hi, this is a minor problem and more a quality-of-life thing, as there is no hard crash or bug per se. Context: I need to print a LOT of things every month for the job, so I download a LOT of PDFs.
Problem: When downloading a PDF, if I open it via the dropdown menu in the menubar, it opens, but immediately unfocuses Firefox. That's it. Why the unfocusing? Lol.
Limits: If I mark PDFs to open automatically (in the options) instead of downloading, then it opens fine and no loss of focus. Same thing if I open from a folder, it's set to open in Firefox and it does so, with no loss of focus. As far as I can tell, the issue appears only when opening from the download button/icon/dropdown menu from the menubar.
Suggestion 1) Adding a "Download AND Open in Firefox" option in the settings would be my ultimate greatest option but.... maybe not the best for cluttering millions of people's browser options. It's just what "I" want to do ;)
Suggestion 2) Trace where it loses focus and re-focus / prevent loss of focus when opening from the menu.

Firefox was working fine yesterday. But all of a sudden while playing a youtube video it started being choppy. It drops frames, scrolling and video playback are choppy and laggy, there is lag on button inputs, the system is choppy and laggy too while firefox is open, especially when video is playing. I checked the CPU and GPU usage and I can't see any spikes. I have tried refreshing firefox but that did not fix the problem.
OS is manjaro linux (gnome version) latest. Firefox is also at the latest version.
