My emails get marked unread when I reply to them.

I have looked all over the net and found people with the same problem back in 2008 but nothing since then. They say it's a server side issue. I was just wondering if anyone has an answer that can fix it?

IMAP email account on godaddy imap.secureserver.net read incoming email and it marks it as read. click on it and hit reply. Once you send it Thunderbird marks it as unread?
