Thunderbird will not let me access an email

I have been storing emails from my att.net email account on a thumb drive. I was told by a friend that it had to be "decoded" for me to read these & that Thunderbird could do this.

Now, I REALLY need several emails that had very important pictures. For some reason, these particular emails are not in the group of emails I stored - but, when I go to search with the email names, all three emails come up as a LIST - but it won't let me open them! I've been reading about problems with Thunderbird for hours now & did try the going to Properties & Repairing Folder - to no avail.

I tried to attach a picture of what this LIST looks like, but it stalled for over 20 minutes.

How did you store it? How did you import it to TB? Decode? What do you mean What file-type are your saved emails
