Unified Folders not working after profile migration

I've moved my Thunderbird profile to a new PC. All works fine but the unified folders. Selecting view->all or view->unified folders produces the same result: all folders are shown.

One of the solution seems to be delete the "smart mailboxes" folder in "Mail" folder and the virtualfolders.dat file. I've deleted all .msf files and also foldertree.json file to force Thunderbird to re-create all its stuff. The problem is that I have no "smart mailboxex" folder, neither in the old PC, nor in the new one. Please note that my prifile in the old PC is stored in D:\Documenti\Thunderbird folder (not in the usual AppData/local o AppData/roaming one). In the old PC all works flawless. in the new one, where the profile is storend in D:\Utenti\Enrico\Documenti\Thunderbird folder, unified folders doesn't work.

Any idea on how to solve this problem? Thank you

every profile has a smart profile folder. Try looking in the standard location, I am guessing you have set a location for the account folders, not the profile.

Thunderbird should refuse to allow a use of the documents folder for mail storage.

I found an immediate solution by putting the profile in a folder of the new PC using the same path as the old PC. Old PC: "D:\Documenti\Thunderbird" and new PC "D:\Utenti\Enrico\Documenti\Thunderbird" doesn't work.

Then I've investigated why in this way all seems to work flawless. In the old PC I found two user path: an old "C:\Users\Enrico" and a new "C:\Users\Enrioc.PC_Enrico", made I don't remember when by a Windows 10 Update (may be during the upgrade Windows 7 -> Windows 10). In the C:\Users\Enrioc.PC_Enrico path, I found all my stuffs but the current Thunderbird profile. I found it in C:\Users\Enrico\AppData\Roaming etc...". Since also in the new PC all my stuffs ar in C:\Users\Enrico, that's why, when using the same path for the Thunderbird profile also in the new PC, things work.

Thank you for your suggestion that put me on a good footing
