How do I fix "Unrecognized command: ID"

I get this message for all operations. It does not seem to effect the operation of Thunderbird. I am using version 68.3.1

This is a continuation of a thread with the same title that was closed over a year ago. I do not accept the answer therein - "there is a problem with the POP3 mail server.". If there were a problem with the mail server, then an Exit and restart of Thunderbird would NOT work, as Thunderbird would be passing the same (bad) parameters to the mail server. In fact, every time I have experienced this error, an Exit and restart of Thunderbird has corrected the problem.

I believe that what is happening is that the POP3 connection parameters within Thunderbird are getting corrupted, maybe overlaid. I have no way of proving this, as 1) the connection to the POP3 server is encrypted so a Wireshark trace would not tell me anything, and 2) I do not know the internals of Thunderbird. I had an occurrence last week, and what I did was to take a dump via the Task Manager. Maybe someone with knowledge of Thunderbird internal;s can look at the dump and see if the connection parameters are still intact. Or tell me what windbg commands to run against the dump.

I am running 60.9.0 on Windows 7 Professional, 32-bit. Thanks.

The Folder pane and message list are showing up as about 6 point on my 27 inch Apple screen and very hard to read. I know there is a font adjuster add-on for Firefox Mac users, but is there the same for Thunderbird? (Before I go blind!)

I use Windows 10 Pro and Tbird ver. 68.1.0 (64-bit). Help> About Tbird says I'm up to date yet every morning I get a small window that asks me if I would like to update Tbird. Why is this if I'm up-to-date? Second, I tried the update and the update opened as a new install w/o incorporating anything such as my existing sent messages, trash, contacts and most importantly my local folders. How best to handle this if in fact it really is a update?

Thunderbird has stopped fetching new messages, giving this message.

The current operation on 'Inbox' did not succeed. The mail server for account ... responded Invalid UID fetch attribute XSENDER

I'm running release 52.2.1 on Windows 7.

Only the most recent messages give this error. Previously fetched messages display properly.

There has been no change to the account settings. Whatever happened seems to have happened at between 9 PM yesterday and 4 AM today. Subsequent messages are listed, but don't open, giving this message.

Why is it that what should be the simplest task in the world is a Rube Goldberg nightmare? We have a number of Thunderbird Calendars in different colors (red for appointments, blue for special occasions etc).

First: one of the calendars seems to be corrupted and we want to restore it from the Windows 7 back up. Simple? Impossible. We can not find them. You can not restore what you can not find.

Second: our office has a new computer and we SIMPLY want to copy those calendars over to the new unit where we have installed Thunderbird. Simple? Impossible. Same problem: if you can not find them you can't copy them over.

All responses to these issues have been wrong and been given by people who have obviously not ACTUALLY DONE IT. People should not tell us to do what they have not actually done themselves for the documentation simply wrong in many regards. So please do not tell us to do what you have not ACTUALLY DONE to confirm the instructions are correct. Simple: Verify in fact. Vet the instructions in real life where we actually live. Don't tell us what *should* be true but show us what is proven to actually *be* true. All else is a waste of all our time. Don't tell -- show.

We are told the calendars are in the Profile. We find the Profile (we are showing hidden files and folders) but we can find nothing that even suggests calendar files and nothing that even suggests files with the properties of the calendars on our computer. Not a hint. not a clue. We can not even discover the path-name. We have supplied screen shots of all this. When instructions are proven to be wrong the solution is not to just ignore the fact. This should be the simplest task imaginable and not the embarking on a new career.

We have Windows 7 and the most recent version of FireFox. If a calender is corrupted how do we restore of from a back up? If we buy a new computer and install Thunderbird and want to copy the calendar over how do we do that? We can do none of this and we can not even find the calendars. When someone actually does this do let us know. Does anything really need to be this complicated?

It's ridiculous that Thunderbird requires an "add on" download to enable making the font size larger on EVERYTHING in the Thunderbird email program. What is Thunderbird thinking making everything so small you can barely see it?!

There has got to be a better way!!!

Please increase the size of the fonts on your program. (I know I can change the fonts and type style on outgoing emails. That's not the problem I want EVERYTHING LARGER! I want to see what I type in a message the same as my recipient will read it!

There are NO saved passwords in the Saved Logins window in the Options - Security page.

My folders with ca 1500 emails disappered from my Inbox. The IT guy said they are gone because they were on-line. I still hope you will help me out.

I have many filters in my Inbox but sometimes important e-mails end up in Deleted folder. I was trying to move an e-mail from there to a folder in my Inbox titled ARES. This e-mail kept returning to the Deleted and suddenly I got a message that the folder ARES is not existing. I closed my laptop. After re-opened it, I checked the Inbox only to find that 95% of the folders in my Inbox were gone! Approx. 1500 emails. I checked with an IT guy and he said that nothing can be done because the e-mails were on-line and vanished. My software is protected by Norton. I run a full scan and it was ok, not virus at all. I still hope that maybe they are on some server of yours. You created the program therefore you should know how to help me out. I closed two toolbars where I compose letters and can't get them back, so I can't send the letter out.

The toolbars I closed are:

- The menu bar, which includes the following buttons: file, edit, view, insert, format, option,s tools, help.

- The composition bar which includes the following buttons: send, spelling, attach, print, etc.

The toolbar where I choose font, size of font, italics, underlining, etc. remains and works.

Since I have no "send" button, there is no way to mail email from my desktop.

Hello everyone. I have been getting recurring and seemingly random crashes since I update Windows 10 to the latest version, 1803.

I have tried running Thunderbird in recovery mode and it doesn't crash. Trouble is, I disabled every single plugin and extension and still I get the crashes if I run in normal mode.

So there must be some difference between normal and recovery mode which starts the crashes, but I have no idea what it may be.

The installed version is the latest version. I tried with an older version, 44-something, and still there are crashes.
