Firefox does not save window-size and toolbar settings after shutting down and restarting my computer.
For the past few days Firefox has forgotten all my toolbar settings and window size settings that have been the same for the past few years. All of a sudden it opens in a funky, squeezed window with its own default settings every time I start up my computer in the morning. I have read pages and pages of instructions about the prefs.js and user.js files, about starting in safe mode and resetting all settings, etc., but with no results. The settings are saved as long as I keep my computer running, but the next morning it's back to the same: small window, all default toolbars displayed, none of my personal settings from last night saved. I even completely uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. That did not help either! Again, this glitch started happening only the last 3 or 4 days, while previously it has worked correctly for as long as I've been using Firefox (maybe 5 years or more). I have not changed any software or hardware in my computer for the past year or so, except routine Windows updates once a week or so. I am behind a firewall, I have McAfee as well as Registry Mechanic activated which routinely scan my Dell OptiPlex GX280 computer each time I turn it on.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

I deleted localstore.rdf, and I also found a localstore-secure.rdf which I also deleted.
The problem seems to be solved.
Thank you!
