UNABLE TO DELETE MESSAGES FROM MY INBOX
UNABLE TO DELETE MESSAGES FROM MY INBOX
I have a problem with being unable to delete messages from my in box.
I have searched the online support and found a couple of articles going back to 2020:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1292956
and
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1293317
but they seem to relate to an older version, as mine is 115.4.3 (64 bit).
Having taken a backup first, I’ve followed all the instructions including deleting the Trash folders and forcing an index repair without any success.
The problem doesn’t occur on every message and I seem to be able to delete the odd one but at present I have almost 1,000 messages in my inbox awaiting deletion.
I’m using Windows 10 Home, version 22H2, a POP3 account and regularly compact all folders.
The second of the above articles asked for an image of my ‘pop account name’ folder, which is attached.
I hope someone can help me please.
Regards and TIA
Phil

It may help to know your server settings for leaving messages on server and 'until I delete them', plus your settings for Disk Space.
Thanks David
I've attached screen shots of the information you requested.

So, how are you attempting to delete them? Highlighting and clicking delete? Are your messages being kept on server? You have that unticked, but you also have 'until i delete them ticked, so I'm unsure how that works, as I usually see the 'leave on server' ticked when that other one is ticked.
Thanks again David
I've tried two methods of deleting messages - highlighting and right clicking delete message as well as just highlighting and hitting the delete key. Neither seems to work.
I see what you mean about the 'leave on server' setting, so have unticked the 'until I delete them'.
I've just checked my web mail to see if anything is being kept on the server and nothing is being held on it, although there seems to be about 30MB of storage being used. I will have to take that up with the ISP.
FYI, I use Mailwasher Free to filter and delete unwanted messages at the server before downloading them.
I am at something of a loss here, as you can probably tell.

Phil
I, too, am at a loss. My hope is that someone else will see this, as there are some very technically smart people on the forum.
Thanks for your time David.
I hope you are right. :-)
