Unwanted opening in Bookmarks
Firefox in suddenly opening with unsolicited tabs for a folder in my Bookmarks, even though there is NO tick in the box for 'Open previous windows and tabs' in STARTUP; how can I stop that from happening ?

Check your homepage settings and try disabling all your extensions.
Thank you for the suggestion. By trial and error, I discovered that I could solve the problem (for the time being ?) by closing each tab individually; when I closed and re-opened Firefox, its appearance was 'normal' again.
The last session may be restored automatically if the browser crashes or if the system is shutdown while Firefox is still running.
Neither crash not shutdown had happened.
