Primary Password....
At age 85 I apparently have lost my "Primary Password". And I've tried the re-setting of this from the help pages with no success. "Primary Removal" looks very problematic in that I will lose so much of my saved material. If we could only have what other programs have--sending texts to my phone 510-575-6326 or other "proofs" that I'm who I say I am.... That would solve my problem. I've been using Thunderbird for some decades to support a charity program for impoverished Haitian children. Now I'm facing a complete rental of Thunderbird, or just using Google which has--as I've discovered now--things like "mail merge".... HELP!

Unfortunately, the primary password is 100% local to you. These are the reset steps: - click to tools>developer tools>error console - then enter openDialog("chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xhtml") and press reset button.
This recovers the profile, but all passwords will need to be entered again. There is no other way to recover this.
