I cannot turn off or disable the adaptive junk mail controls.

I go into Account Settings and then Junk Settings and I uncheck the box by Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account. This appears to do nothing. If I go anywhere else in Account Settings and come back or if I close Account Settings and then come back the box I unchecked is now checked again. It seems to be very insistent that the box is checked - insistent enough that it does it itself - even against my wishes and actions.

Is there a way to uncheck this box that sticks?

I have thunderbird 52.9.1 (On that version because later versions break my add ons). I have set up S/Mime and so has my contact. Digital signatures are working fine. I would like to set Thunderbird so that all email he sends to me and vice versa are AUTOMATICALLY encrypted. Is that possible?

My profile is on F:\users\Tanya\profiles\ My profiles.ini points to this folder. My mail is stored in F:\users\tanya\mail When I do backups using macrium I save the profile and mail folders, and the %LOCALAPPDATA% and %APPDATA% folders as well. Now that I have S/Mime set up is there anything else I should be backing up?

My school recently migrated from Gmail to Office365 email hosting. My access to email through Thunderbird was bricked and I'm trying to get it up and running with the new servers. The school doesn't officially support Thunderbird so there will no be help from that end, but I'm hoping it's possible. The tricky part is the OAuth2 authentication.

The school provided these instructions for setting up Evolution mail client. I was able to get Evolution working successfully by following those steps. The question now is how to do the same in Thunderbird.

I tried following along with these instructions for connecting to an OAuth2 server, substituting the SMTP and IMAP settings given in the Office365 browser client. But trying to download my mail gives the error "The IMAP server outlook.office365.com does not support the selected authentication method. Please change the 'Authentication method' in the 'Account Settings | Server settings'

My guess is that Evolution worked because it let me specify

  1. Host URL
  2. Tenant
  3. Application ID

as shown in the picture.

Is there a way to do the same in Thunderbird?

Hello, after update Thunderbird to 78.1.0 start problem. First I can't see any account/email. After comeback I can't see any email content. Resolve this with safe mode. And after with reset toolbars and controls. It was not problem and any add on/plugin. But bigger problem, also after update to 78.1.1 was that i can't check email for 2 of 3 account. Both on same domain and with pop3. I try this: - remove and readd account. - change connection security from SSL to Starttls - change mailnews.tcptimeout. from 100 to 2000 - disable ESET Secuity complete - rename CERT8.DB and CERT9.DB - uninstall 32bit version and install 64bit - under saved password I delete password for this two account

And maybe something more. Nothing help.

In the end find solution to change connection security to None.

Btw computer is in local network and on other PC no problem with this account. And also not on mobile with wifi. Also no problem on computer outside this local network with all identic configiration and now also with version 78.1.1

What happens this block and how to come back to more secure connection
