1. In the address book, I cant select multiple non-contiguous addresses to add to email lists using command. Shift works to select contiguous addresses.

2. Also I cant find abook.mab, which doesnt seem to be in the profile. I thought it might be corrupted and wanted to check.

In compose pane, click F9. That will list addressbook in left pane and you can tick each recipient. Also, the addressbook was renamed to abook.sqlite in version 78, so the old abook.mab may no longer appear.

Thanks for replying. I have the address books and lists in the left pane, the names in the next pane to the right and then the compose pane. i can select individual names and drop/drag them into an list on the left. I can hold down shift and drag contiguous names into a list, but i can only select one name when holding down the command key. I cannot select multiple non-contiguous names to add to a list. F9 doesnt seem to have any effect. Thanks for the .sqlite tip. i thought i was going nuts not able to find abooks.mab.

I encourage you to look at the contact list with F9. It allows you to be a tickmark by each desired recipient and to then click the To or CC or BCC options.

My problem in the address book, not email itself. I want to create a list by drag/dropping multiple names into an existing list. Command does not allow multiple selections. I am not sure when or how to click F9. Sorry if i am not explaining well.

OK, here goes.. to add addresses in addressbook to a list: - while pressing cntl key, highlight desired email addresses in addressbook - release cntl key - using left mouse key, drag to the desired list and then release key. addresses should now appear in list.

The F9 key addresses a different issue, selecting recipients while composing. To use this, click the 'write' button to enter compose pane and then either press F9 (if using Windows) or you could click View>contacts sidebar. The contact list will appear and you can then select each of the desired recipients.

Hi! I have this issue as well. I need to create multiple contact lists every few months, pulling names from a work address book that has 100s of emails in it at this point. The contacts for each mailing list vary, there are 40-90 or more for each contact list, and they are never in consecutive order.

So, yes, until recently I would use the method described by David, above. But ever since a recent update (I am using 102.13.0 now), control-click does NOT work. Only a single email/contact can be highlighted at once. Maybe this is because of the new pane at the bottom, where we can see details on whichever email is selected above? I mean, clearly that pane can't show more than one contact at once...

...but if that it the issue, then I would LOVE to be able to turn OFF that pane, because I don't care about seeing full details on a contact most of the time anyway! Clicking and draggin one email/contact at a time, for a list of over 90 emails, is ridiculously inefficient. :( There has got to be a better way!

I am having trouble duplicating your issue. In compose window, F9 works smoothly to highlight multiple addresses and select for TO or CC or BCC, and in addressbook, I can highlight multiple addresses and drag to a contact list. I am using 115.

F9? I am using a Mac, so that does not work for me. (Yes, even when I toggle over to "Use F1, F2, etc. as standard function keys"). On a Mac, it is the Command key (the loop-cornered square) that serves this function. And it has stopped working in the recent versions of Thunderbird.
