First, do a full backup of profile when Thunderbird not running. Next, upgrades are generally safe when upgrading to first version of a new release. That would indicate upgrading in this sequence: - 68.1 - 78.0.1 - 98.0.1 - 102.0.1 - 102.7.2 (current release)
