I've tried a multitude of options and searching google. Oh and let's not forget 5 min of being circle jerked here, just to ask a question.

I would like to open a tab where I can display all my important and starred emails for quick access. I don't mean opening a completely new window. Just one Thunderbird client open, while being able to open tabs which can be different categories.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks for any help.

Taking your request literally, "important and starred emails" in one tab, you will need to create a virtual folder.

Click on a folder, ctrl+shift+F, pick your target account and folders, set two conditions - status and tags - and then click save as search folder at the bottom. You can edit the saved search to further refine folders and accounts.
