Why is this Thunderbird version so confusing? Doesn't print, can't reply, etc w/o having this whole bunch of tech headers at beginning. What happened to the regular email, print, text, reply features.

Left Outlook due to it's craziness and deciding what to put as spam and in archive vs myself so again thought I'd try Thunderbird as it was a good email program. Now I see why it isn't listed any longer as a good free email program. I have 2 email programs I pay for - Protonmail VPN and Mailfence Entry level. Still learning how to have more than1 email address to use.

Thunderbird used to be very simple, user friendly, and quick. Now it's a mess even when trying to just reply to someeone's email. I get all these 'headers' first and when I select print, I get all this header garbage which wastes tons of paper. Can't find a way around it.

Please help or I'm going to have to dump thunderbird until it gets itself fixed!

did that; had to close thunderbird then reopen then the headers were gone. thnx!

1. Another issue: have the thunderbird icon shortcut to use. click on it and get a blank screen vs opening up the emails.

2. to send an email, whether forward or new email, etc., there is no 'send' button. Did discover have to go to Thunderbird, click 'send now or send later'. Was much easier and faster in earlier versions where you just clicked on the 'send' button at top of screen. Other way now is to scroll to very bottom to see in tiny print a 'send' button. Thunderbird really messed up the email program this time.

3. Printing is also a real pain in the butt. Want to print an email out and have to jump thru a bunch of hoops to print it. I put 'print' button at top which sort of works but not completely.

4. tried to put a 'signature' on certain email addresses so when I send an email, my signature appears at bottom of email being sent. That is not easy either.

Thunderbird made their program harder vs easier. Have used Thunderbird off n on for few years. Hate outlook and it just keeps getting worse. Integrated my gmail accts into outlook but everytime I have to log into my gmail account first. So now trying Mailfence, pd subscription which doesn't do that. Gmail is not the most secure email program, but it does work.

Have a Protonmail VPN account as well. Still working on the 'aliases' to use. Mailfence also has 'aliases' but they are much easier to set up. Tested the email out and income. Work great.

Anyone have quick answers/solutions to the above concerns. I am not a novice. Have done software/email support for years and built computers. Now use nothing but Apple computers. Easier to work with.

I have none of the issues you describe. What you're seeing is not how the latest Thunderbird is designed or behaves. Yours is an exception, not the norm. Start with running Thunderbird in Troubleshoot Mode as explained here Troubleshoot Mode Thunderbird.
