Search Function...
I really love Thunderbird, have been using it for 10 years. But the problem is the search function which is very slow and it freezes the software so nothing can be done until the search is done. If I cancel the search it removes the results it found. So I either have to wait or get no results.
The search also fails to find words that are in the body of html emails.
Please work on the search function to improve usability :)

Moving mail from IMAP account to local folders and having antivirus scanning on in the profile folder can both cause integrity issues with the database.
