I've used TB for many years, over which time I've created a long list of local folders for emails on specific topics.

I recently had an SSD installed in my PC to replace the HDD, having copied my TB profile onto a memory stick beforehand. After the SSD was installed, I downloaded TB again and replaced the new TB profile created in AppData Roaming with the saved one.

My messages have all downloaded into the Inbox (all shown as 'unread') but the list of local folders hasn't appeared. It would be well nigh impossible to recreate this manually from memory, and would take an age.

What can I do to salvage the situation?

Help/Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Open Folder, close TB, open Mail/Local Folders and sbd subdirectories. Do you see the mbox files, the large ones with no extension, named after your folders? If not there, are they in Mail/<popserver> folders? Is TB reading the copied profile or a new one created with the new setup?
