I refreshed my firefox browser after being assured that my login information would be preserved. Well, ALL my login info is gone. I need to get it back.I stumbled upon instructions to do that and they make no sense with what i'm seeing on my screen. I'm on a macbook pro laptop

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.

Found the Old firefox, but, once again am at a loss. How do I open a file with .db extension? Is that what I'm supposed to do? I'm not a technical person. I would have NEVER refreshed my browser except it said passwords would be preserved.

You don't open the files. You Copy the required files from the old profile to the current. Read the links I posted.
