Visit Help > Troublehsooting > about:profiles. Do you see at the top "Profile: default" and is it using that profile?

If not, what profile is being used? And then use "launch profile" using the default profile at the top.

I recent ly had a problem with my computer and took it to Geek squad they had to back up the files into windows 7 and then i bought a windows 10 in which they did the same thing also they had to reinstall the operating system in windows 7. when they back upp the files i windows 7 they also did it on thi computer windows 10. i had to reinstall from scratch thunderbird mail I lost all my contacts email addresses I do not have an old profile to get the addresses from is there away to retrieve my contacts into my new windows10. or do i need to do it manually. This is what i had that someone had done for me but i am not sure it will work with out and old profile.%appdata% check roaming in menu choose Thunderbird profiles copy address book,mab history mab go to profiles delete address book and history mab and copy savd files. but with old old profile how do i do this

I had lost them also but thankfully awhile back i had copied them with my printer and had to reinstall manually. I n my caase I had lost them due to having to reinstall theoperaating system and not having had a back up

as i said i had copied them and prinmted them out and put them in manually

I tried the solution through "launch profile," but unfortunately the original (missing) profile did not show in the list as one of the options. Any idea how to locate it (I have found, for example, word documents that had disappeared after the transition to Windows 10).
