the default date formats are drawn from the operating systems medium date format. I suggest you check that setting in your operating system.

My wife and I have separate Thunderbird email accounts. I assume that a new Thunderbird update made some changes and the date and time columns were lost in her email account but not in mine (or possibly the date and time were inadvertently deleted by her). I would like to restore the missing date and time column on her side. How do I access the "operating systems medium date format"? I am not really computer knowledgeable, so please make it as simple as possible.

click the square icon at the end of the headings for the list and select date.
