I am desperate. I, perhaps foolishly created a folder with around 200 sub-folders for filing all my correspondence in Thunderbird. I run a busy business and insist on email correspondence. I take clients emails out of the inbox and store them in these files. They are full and go back years. They are my business records. Microsoft specifically told me they would not be lost when they told me I had to reinstall Windows10 to fix an error they made. They said all the files would be still be there, confirming my belief they were on my computer once I took them out of the sent and inbox. I downloaded Thunderbird again, and set up my six email accounts but have no idea if I can retrieve all that history that I stored. I'm holding my breath. Please let me know if its possible. Thank you

You can check for a folder named C:\Windows.old\Users\your-username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird

If you do not immediately see AppData, make sure Windows shows hidden files and folders. To change that setting, see this article (hopefully it's similar in Windows 10): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files

Does such a folder exist?

If so, look for your old Thunderbird profile. For the default Thunderbird profile location see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird

If none of the above works the only way would be to restore a backup of your Thunderbird profile you created prior to the incident.
