Hi, try deleting ALL references to iPlayer. To do that, open the 3-bar menu, choose History (looks like a clock), then click the Show All History link at the bottom of the list to open the Library window. Type BBC iPlayer into the Search History field in the top-right corner, then press Enter. Now in the search results, right-click on it, and select Forget About This Site. (Browsing and download history, cookies, cache, active logins, passwords, saved form data, exceptions for cookies, images and pop-ups for that site will be removed). Give it a minute to complete the deletion, then try the site (not from an old bookmark) again. More - Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox


Also in Options > Advanced (General Tab) - Accessibility, make sure that Warn when websites try to redirect or reload the page, isn't selected - Advanced panel - Accessibility, browsing, network, updates, and other advanced settings in Firefox


If that doesn't work, there is a chance that your uBlock add-on is interfering, so you could try disabling it - Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Extensions.


Incidentally, you have 3 versions of Shockwave Flash - which can cause problems, so all but the latest should be removed from your machine -

Thanks for your reply but tried it all and still cant sign in. However if I go to a private window it gives you the option to sign in or register later which then allows me in. This is what i had before it decided I had to register and log in!

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.

  • check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools -> Page Info -> Permissions"

Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the cache":

  • Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If clearing cookies didn't help then It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • rename/remove cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and if present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
