Why do some of my emails received go into the Junk box when the sender' name is in my address book?

the usual cause is your provider determining they are spam, not Thunderbird.
Thunderbird will respect entries in the address book. but by default only entries in the "personal address book" are whitelisted. he collected addresses are not whitelisted. I suggest you check which address book the person is in.
