I have followed the suggestions from other threads but under tools I don't have the 'options' option, so I don't know how to access my password or re-set a new one. I have tried logging out and logging back in, but it logs me back in automatically. I just can't send emails as it asks me for my password. What can I do? Your help is much appreciated.

1. Your email password is administered with your email provider. Trying to change it through Thunderbird is a waste of time. Contact your provider for help changing your password.

2. Options is a submenu under Tools if you are using the Menu Bar which is hidden in newer versions. Press the alt key to reveal a hidden menu bar.

3. Since you are obviously using the 3 line AppMenu button, Options is a choice in the main menu. Try using that.

4. You do not log into Thunderbird so you do not log out either. You log in to your email account using Thunderbird.

5. After you actually change your password with your provider, then you can follow the instructions for Thunderbird to update the password you saved there.
