Can you tell me how to find the password to Eudora 6.2.4 on a Mac desktop using OS 10.6.8?

My Eudora has always been working just fine for years on this desktop. All of a sudden it won't send or receive unless I enter a password. I looked everywhere for a password but couldn't find one. How can I find a password or enter a new one?

You are correct, there is no Eudora support. either from the developer, or for the sort lives OSE product.

In general terms, I would guess the password is for your mail server not Eudora. So you might need to reset the password with your provider if you do not know it.

I hope you realize that Eudora no longer produces compliant emails and your recipients will be having more and more trouble deciphering what you send as time goes by. Email is now unicode, so the ANSI and code pages used by Eudora do not work like they used to.

I would suggest you replace Eudora while you can. Thunderbird has no support for Eudora import anymore. That was dropped in the Version 31 time frame, so even if you wanted to migrate to Thunderbird you would need an old version of it to do the migration. The longer you wait the harder it will become.

Hi

This does not sound like an issue with the Mozilla Thunderbird email client.

I recommend you contact either Apple or Eudora support for help with this issue.

You are correct, of course, but I have looked everywhere for an answer and didn't know where to turn. I was just hoping that some old-time techie out there might see this and have an answer or be able to to refer me somewhere. This technology is so old that I don't think that there is any Eudora support site.

Thanks, Matt. Yes I knew that Eudora is long past its useful life. It was getting more quirky and balky all the time but it was just so comfortable and easy that I didn't want to have to switch to something new. But I'll get about that now.
