Hello,

I am trying to set up Thunderbird as an IMAP client for a Gandi mail account (have been using the webmail until now), but I can't get the setup to work correctly: error message "Login to server mail.gandi.net failed."

I've checked several times the user name and password, which work OK in Gandi's webmail interface.

I've set up the account in Thunderbird first using the automatic account creation wizard, then using manual settings, but to no avail.

I've also tried configuring this mail account with another email client (OS X Mail) and it worked ok - but I would much rather use T-Bird !

If anyone has an idea, I'd be very interested... I'm running out of ideas !! thanks in advance :)

P.S: The troubleshooting information I have is the following:

Confirm User Name = full email address eg: joebloggs@yourdomain.com please check for typos, commas instead of full stops etc.

Tools > Account Settings for the account or Menu icon > Options > Account Settings for the account

Account name = full email address Email Address = full email address

Also check Outgoing Server(SMTP) select the smtp server and check User Name = full email address

Thanks for the reply - and sorry for the delay in getting back to you, couldn't access my email today.

I checked the user name is correct, with the full email address (contact@domainname.com) and checked for whitespace also in both username and password.

SMTP user name is also the full email address.

Please let me know if there is anything else I should check.

Regards
