Hi Everyone,

A couple of weeks ago my Firefox got an upgrade and after that my Home Page is set up to http://www.itsupportguides.com every time I restart Firefox. I have already tried every thing on the Firefox support page and I could not find anything on Google. I really like Firefox, and I do not want to migrate to Chrome.

Thanks!

Hello,

If you change your homepage settings in:

  • Tools (or New Fx Menu) > Options > General

The home page automatically reverts back as soon as you restart Firefox? Sometimes it can be caused by an external application which prevents changes your preferences. Please see How to fix preferences that won't save - you may need to modify the settings in those applications before making changes in Firefox.

If you have no programs that do that, check if there any suspicious add-ons in your extensions page:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
  3. Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.

After Firefox restarts, install the Search Reset Tool. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox.

For further information, please read Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page.

Alternatively the Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences. To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Reset Firefox"Button reset. Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Thank you.
