Currently, I have installed Thunderbird version 128.7.1esr via flatpak. I was not able to change the branch from stable to release. Can you give me some advice?

The file exists, I have permissions and it does not happen on 115.10.1 (64-bit) I have the two Thunderbirds installed, one is repo and the new one is flatpak (Ubuntu 24.04)

Can you please create a Flatpak version for "The official monthly release. today I received an email from the thunderbird Newsletter team advising me of a data breach relating to MailChimp. It came on a unique disposable address only used for Thunderbird matters. Everything about it checks out as genuine and the various clickable links are the same as those I received on my original subscription email, but when I tried to use the "change my preferences" link (which again links to the genuine site, I got to a site which said it would send a verification email to my email address h t t p s:/ /thunderbird.us12.list-manage.com/profile/send-email (obfuscated for forum) . No such email arrives. There are NO ways I can see of contacting anyone on the newsletter team. I am trying to change the address used to send the newsletter to me, but am unable to do so as the verification email never arrives. Two questions - is this "important notice about your thunderbird newsletter subscription" genuine, and secondly - how do I update my preferences if I never get the verification email and can't otherwise contact the newsletter team? Thanks for any assistance, I can't see any other way of contacting the team.

Email worked as late as 4:54 P.M. this afternoon. That is the last time email downloaded. Sometime after that the issues started.
Every operation that moves or downloads messages fails and the common thread seems to be permission to write to various folders: -downloading messages unable to write email to the Mail box -sending messages cannot put the outgoing message into the sent box -Deleting messages cannot put the email into the trash folder
These events all produce windows with explanations of the perceived problem. One example attached.
This user has "full Control" permission on Thunderbird folders, but Thunderbird cannot write to the folders from within Thunderbird.
The inbox folder and the trash folders have been repaired.
Outside Thunderbird the User can write a .txt file to all folders down to and including the pop.[provider name] folder.
The latest version of Thunderbird (128.8.1esr(32-bit)) has been downloaded and installed. Thunderbird has been restarted and the problem continues.
There is plenty of disk space.
The operating system is Windows 10.
Sure would appreciate some guidance to get this working.

I would like to know whether the Thunderbird supports sending mass emails via Mai Merge with iCloud.com. When I use my email (xuweikang2015@icloud .com) and try to send messages via Mail Merge in Thunderbird, it has an error. It shows the message sending failed. Because it couldn't connect to the sending server (SMTP) smtp.mail.me.com, the email couldn't be sent. The server might be temporarily unavailable or refuse the SMTP connection. Please verify whether your sending server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

I can undo the default adaptive spam filtering and set up my own "delete" filters, but I don't know how to remove the spam folders from my edresses. Are there ways to do this? I prefer the older design, though I understand that some users want those folders.

Bonjour, Thunderbird/ Windows 10 home /64bits 1 Depuis 2025/03/15 Envoi de mail impossible (réception OK) 2 J'effectue 2025/03/17 une restauration de Windows au 2025/03/12, date du dernier message envoyé sans problème. 3 La restauration dure plus de 6 heures ! mais j'ai un pop up Microsoft qui confirme la bonne exécution. 4 Je vérifie le fonctionnement général : Internet OK, profil Thunderbird OK, Points de restauration antérieurs au 2025/03/17 disparus; compte tenu de la durée exceptionnellement longue de la restauration je pense que windows a dû procéder à quelques réparations..il semble d'ailleurs un peu plus "agile". 5 J'effectue une double sauvegarde de mes données (profil TDB inclus), au cas où... 6 Je démarre Thunderbird , ECHEC !; message "Couldnot load XPCOM".
Je propose de désinstaller TDB puis de le réinstaller; qu'en pensez vous ?

Thunderbird has pretty much disappeared from my iMac, and I cannot find a way to solve this problem. I've restarted Thurnderbird multiple times and restarted the iMac. It came out of nowhere, and I do not know what to do. I've attached a screenshot with the screen that pops up when I open Thunderbird. As of yesterday my Thunderbird account vanished, screen asking to set up an account. I am too old to be an IT expert, and I need detailed step by step guidance how to restore that account, full of Inbox emails and folders/subfolders. If it matters (depending on requirements?), my address is @verizon.net - which is pop3 but I have no problem opening the same emails on different devices, as if it were imap (verizon taken over by aol). I haven't used my Win 11 laptop in a while. I started it up and let Thunderbird run. It had several months of emails to download, but has now stopped at early March. I asked it to continue and get a message "Unable to write email to mailbox. ....." I know there is plenty of space on the harddisk. I cleared out a lot of the junk emails from earlier months and emptied the trash. Rebooted. Updated to latest version 128.8.1esr. Still same error message.

Hi, I am working on behalf of my dad to figure out what's going on with his Thunderbird client and trying to understand if it's a client issue, or an issue with his email address.
The e-mail address used belongs to The Messaging Company (as they have bought out iiNet/AAPT). There are issues where my dad is logged out constantly and has to retype his password, and sometimes is unable to send or receive mail. I have updated server in-going and out-going according to The Messaging Company's suggestion. I've attached screenshots.
Let me know what else I can do to troubleshoot if this is Thunderbird client or issues with the email service.
