Lost all cookies, history, and saved passwords after downgrading
I was force updated to Firefox 70 and I didn't like the new layout for the new tab page, so I installed the .exe to downgrade to 69.0.3 .
However, when I launched Firefox again, I lost all of my saved data on the browser and it was a fresh profile.
Prior to downgrading, I had saved a copy of the Mozilla Firefox folder that is C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox just in case.
Is there any way I could fix this and revert to the saved settings, extensions, and passwords that I previously had?

Since Firefox 67, there is a Downgrade Protection system that prevents you from loading profiles on older versions of Firefox. Since your profile was opened in Firefox 70, it no longer able to be opened on Firefox 69.0.3.
You can bypass this by running Firefox with the -allow-downgrade command line option. However, permanently staying in an older version of Firefox is certainly not an advisable option, since it would leave you vulnerable to various security holes.
What about the new tab page don't you like? Perhaps there is a way to change it back to the way that you want it.

What changes did you notice? They seems really similar between 69 and 70 to me.

Thank you for the help. I fixed it and apparently I just needed to change the user profile. I can't believe I missed that.
I dislike about the new update that, the new tab page has moved my "Top Sites" list to a much higher position. I am unsure if this is a bug or not, but with the "Top Sites" icons moved up, half of my screen is blank.
Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this design flaw?

Do you turn off the search bar? I think there might have been a huge Firefox Logo above the Top Sites before when you remove some sections and I don't see that right now. So that could explain the changed position.
Firefox doesn't store your personal data in the Firefox program folder, but uses two location in the hidden AppData\Roaming and AppData\Local folders.
Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data (Root Directory on about:profiles).
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files (Local Directory on about:profiles).
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
If you lost personal data then it is possible that a new default-release profile folder has been created. See "Determine if Firefox has created a new profile":
You can open the about:profiles page via the location bar to check whether multiple profiles are present and what profile Firefox currently is using.

Thats the only thing I have that isnt disabled other than top sites, but somehow, the top sites got moved upwards leaving half the screen blank. It's not what I am accustomed to and it isn't something that is an improvement either, so I am confused what to do about it.
Hi helpmybrowser123, I have the search bar + 4 rows of Top Sites and that takes up pretty much the whole visible part of the tab. You could add more rows if that would be useful, or you could look for a userContent.css "hack" to add some space at the top so it's more vertically centered.
