Why are Customized Link colors being used for some websites even when "Never" override is selected?

In the Color options, I have picked a "dark" theme color scheme that includes bg, text and link colors. In the "Override..." condition I've specified "Never" as I want to turn this on manually only for certain websites.

While the bg color returns to normal when "Never" is specified, the Text and Link colors are NOT returning to default for some websites. E.g. Craigslist.org - Link colors persist, text color defaults back to normal black.

This makes the browser unusable for these sites. If the Override specification is truly "Never" why do some of the settings persist? Perhaps these sites do not have their own specification for some colors, but they still work if no Color customization is specified at all.

Those websites might be specifying only one of the colors and leave the other as set in the browser as default. If you use a dark background and the website specifies a dark text color, but doesn't specify a background color then this obviously won't work in your case.

You can check the CSS color rules in the Inspector and possibly use an extension or userContent.css to override the website settings.

In your example, if the website doesn't specify the bg color, then the browser default of white should apply. My customized setting which has been set to override "Never" should not kick in no matter what. What am I missing?

This addon is amazing for dark. Very few sites fail, which is less than any other addon I tried so far. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dark-background-light-text/?src=search

Unfortunately, Mozilla borked Firefox theming. The only way to theme about: pages causes all pages to have the same colors.

On the bright side, Firefox is less borked than other browsers, in this respect.

Everything needs hacked to work right.

Hi Xoferif

You can look at this page to get some ideas for userChrome.css and about pages.
