why do i get a message that firefox has crashed. what has happened. i am not satified with firefox. it is very slow and sometimes crashes.

but the main question is: what can i do right now.

A friend informs me that Firefox settings > General > Browsing > Always show scrollbars has been removed in version 129.

This is alarming because I need that option for accessibility reasons.

Could you please check and, if necessary, reinstate this vital option?

I had the situation maybe a year ago. I use the Firefox profile manager.

I just updated to 127.02, and now not I'm getting this because for whatever reason, since the update, I am somehow on the beta channel, but only with this profile. I just opened two other profiles, and neither is on the beta channel, although i don't know what "Firefox is being updated by another instance" means.

I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but I'm also just noticing that a number of my addons settings have reverted to default.

When I used to take screenshots, they would be automatically named with the date, time, and part of the text captured regardless of language. A few days ago and with no reason I can discern, it now saves any non-English screenshots with something like this "Screenshot 2024-06-23 a[...].png" instead of "Screenshot 2024-06-22 at 08-02-28 Politics Policy Polit[...].png" (usual for English text and what I used to get with all languages).

Which means I have to manually rename screenshots. Does anyone know how I can fix this because I am working on a project with lots of screenshots for topics from different languages?

I just noticed today that none of my various folders storing important bookmarks work anymore and they have all lost their own indiviual logos. Instead there are just globe logos!? This is very recent so i can only imagine so kind of update has done this?

Can i get these fixed?

I recently suffered from the "127.0.1" not compatible error. Eventually I was persuaded to reinstall firefox from the Mozilla oficial site using Edge, despite having reservations about losing my passwords etc. which has happened before. Fortunately, the installation routine included an update option which preserved all of that. However, my menus bar (File ...... History, Bookmarks...) is missing and I cannot find any way to get it back. I rely upon it to restore previous sessions, because I routinely have the same 7 tabs open and want to be able to get them back after an update or laptop shutdown, and also use it to search history and find bookmarks that are not in the bookmarks bar. Any help welcome.

As an asside, my pet hate is updates to any application that remove, move, or hide a very useful feature without explanation or warning and claim to be to "improve the user experience". Take it from a long standing user, they don't. Quite the contrary.

For two days will tab crash for TikTok. For years, will not allow access to certain sites and no contest entries for the last few months. Worked before. No phone help and to download the browser doesn't work. I was upset as won't load TIktok and I NEED IT as use it daily. Please fix it ASAP!! I wasted time contacting Monzilla, as was only link for Firefox. They told me no help wasted today.

how are shortcuts created on my "new tab" home page in firefox browser. I used to be able to create the shortcuts I wanted, not random shortcuts that I might have visited once. Now shortcuts appear that I don't want. I know I can remove them by dismissing them but I should not get them in the first place. Please help.

When im starting my computer, suddenly this program with old firefox logo auto starting on windows taskbar, i cant open(maximize) it....when i hover to that old firefox logo, it just shows random text......

If i'm opening task manager, that program or something is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\AlphaPress under the name update.exe.....i alrd close that program, delete that, and running malwarebytes, but didnt find any threat.....If u can reassure me that it wasnt dangerous malware or anything....maybe some real firefox update?

I have in my laptop a external webcam a Logitech Webcam C930e. The webcam is a HD webcam with 1080p. But in Google Meet in Firefox I can only configure it at 720p but in Chrome I can configure it at 1080p. Why have that behavior?

When I search for a Hebrew-language video on Firefox the resulting link text overlaps with the English text “Translate this page” for all YouTube videos. I don’t want any page translated and my Firefox Translation settings include no languages. The overlap only occurs on YouTube video links. How can I get rid of the “Translate this page” text? So, this is going to be an incredibly weird question, but is anyone else having this issue? As of about two days ago, any time I try and load a video on youtube it will refuse to load for upwards of 30 seconds, however if I toggle the new stable volume option off/on it instantly loads. It will then play for about 2-3 minutes or more depending on video length (sometimes way more) before the buffer bar will stop entirely, take over two minutes to load the video again, then keep playing. More often than not doing this multiple times per singular video. Often times it won't even load anymore at all and I am forced to refresh the page and toggle the stable volume once again.

I've tried disabling every single extension I have, including ad blockers, restarting the entire browser, and using a different account, and it still happens no matter what. However it is not an issue that occurs on chrome or edge, so I'm at a complete loss of what is causing this. Looking up this issue comes up with next to no results, so is it possible this is a youtube issue or is something seriously wrong with my browser and I need to re-install it?

I'm working on ASUS, on Windows 86bit. If I reboot my PC g-mail works again for a couple of hours. I have no problem accessing my g-mail accounts from Chrome.

I can no longer use my camera on firefox, firefox displayed some message about camera when we were trying to chat, but I missed it, I have granted relevant permissions on the site, that we use reularly. The camera icon on the address bar appears red, and I noticed that in Windows security, it lists firefox access requests, but shows no way to grant these requests.

I am not tech minded so please if anyone could keep it simple, I would appreciate it.

Often, when I go to history and try to restore session..it is greyed out. it occurs randomly, but It ALWAYS occurs after an update. This is so frustrating! It never happened on Edge or Chrome, not once. I know it might seem Karen-like fuming about it, but when you have dozens of important tabs open and they don't restore you too will become a karen. I'm almost about to uninstall Firefox because of it

I am trying to view uploaded videos in to my work portal and when I try to view the video this is the error message I receive. I am running WIndows 10 on my desktop. My Windows is up to date and I have cleared all cookies and still not working. Please help. Thank you

I am using Firefox 127 on Ubuntu.

When I press the Control key, I often lose focus in the window I am currently viewing. This is annoying as it prevents me from copy-pasting for example.

Sometimes the focus is back when I release Control, sometimes it is lost and I have to click again on the text field. It does not happen on all websites, for example support.mozilla.org works well, but it happens on duckduckgo or overleaf.

It does not seem to be the same as existing issues such as [the "show mouse when press Ctrl" of Ubuntu] (it is disabled) or an addon (the problem still happens in safe mode).

In case it is useful, when I press Control the tab bar background goes slightly darker, see attached images.

trying to restore previous settings i have accidentally created multiple copy's of bookmarks and folders. many have more than 10 copy's and i now have over 400 000 bookmarks. is there any quick way to delete the copys of bookmarks?

In Firefox, after a reboot, how can I re-open my previous sessions?

Originally I had quite a lot of open browsers & tabs. Then I needed to do a reboot, and now I've lost those previous sessions.

Usually I just open Firefox, and this opens one browser, and then all of my previous browser, and tabs reopen, but this time Firefox crashed, and its popup said it needed to restart, but it would re-open my previous browser and tabs, but it didn't.

After following the usual Firefox help guides, it still wouldn't re-open my previous sessions. Now if I ask it to open my previous sessions, it just opens the recent help guides, and not anything before the crash.

So is there a backup file of my missing sessions that I can roll back to?
