Connection Untrusted unless I am logged in as Administrator
I'm running WIndows 8.1, 64-bit with the latest version of Firefox. I installed Firefox a couple of days ago and never had any problems. I logged into the Admin account yesterday and had no problems in that account either. Today, I logged back into the original account (not Admin) to set up Sync on that account and it would not allow me to go to that page. It said the connection was untrusted and wouldn't even give me the option to bypass the warning. Google was untrusted also. Just about every site I was trying to access was untrusted. I spent an hour trying every bit of advice I could find online that related to my problem, none worked. My computer time is set correctly and tried FF in safe mode, same thing. I tried uninstalling FF and reinstalling, also tried disabling my firewall, but I couldn't do that unless I was Admin either (just bought this computer a few days ago), so I logged back into the Admin acc't. and gave my original account some Admin privileges. Now, I don't have the problem at all, everything is back to normal.
I would like to be able to use FF as my browser without having to be in an administrator account, is that possible? How can I do that without getting the Connection Untrusted message?

hello dalaohio, a possible solution depends on different factors:
- what is the error code shown under technical details on the error page?
in case the error code equals sec_error_unknown_issuer, please attempt to add an exception on the bottom of the error page & inspect the certificate (see the screenshot attached for instructions):
- which issuer information does the certificate contain?

"This Connection is Untrusted" error message appears - What to do
Here's what it says in the box:
Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.mozilla.org, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
www.mozilla.org uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
If you understand what's going on, you can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification. Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is tampering with your connection.
Don't add an exception unless you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted identification.
hi dalaohio, thanks - now please also follow the second part of the instructions and find out who is the issuer of the failing certificate like described above & displayed in the screenshot.
