Hello, I am having an issue that Emails which are displayed in the reading area disapper for appr. 2 minutes. Afterwards they appear again. I have not been able to find out if this is a problem in Thunderbird, or if another application is causing this. I have read an article that Avast Antivirus is temporarily locking folders during scan. Maybe someone has had the same topic and can give me a hint where to search for the root cause. Thank you.

Thunderbird (157.0.1 (64-bit)) write toolbar missing.

All things are correctly configured, as mentioned in this article, and nothing is working in making the Write (Compose) Formatting toolbar appear again.

Everything is set to compose in HTML format and the keyboard commands mentioned in other articles and so forth do nothing.

Is is perhaps a corrupted profile setting file somewhere? Is there a Config Editor setting that needs to/can be changed ?

Please advise, soonest, thank you in advance.

Hi there I have been using Thunderbird for many years to manage the same many mail accounts on diverse PCs. I prefer using a portable version from portableapps.com, partly because when it comes to transferring to another gadget, it suffices just moving the portable folder, and I do not have to create dozens of accounts in a fresh install. Of late, I have been getting frequent irritating error messages for 2 Yahoo accounts. It connects to them & I can receive mail, but for automatic connections to the server in between, I keep getting error messages like: The current operation on 'inbox' did not succeed.' The mail account to abc@yahoo.com responded: p.', ... etc The other day, after reading about possible solutions from some forums, I decided to just delete both accounts and used the recommended Thunderbird connection settings for Yahoo to create the 2 accounts anew. I thought the problem was solved, only to have the same alerts every now & then reappearing, which amounts to a lot, if you have Thunderbird on many hours a day. I consistently update Thunderbird, the moment I'm alerted to a new version. I also have Gmail, Outlook, AOL(AIM) & other accounts, but not get similar issues. How do I permanently solve this problem? I can't attach a file to an email before sending it

I have 3 gmail e-mail address's but can't attach a file to any of them. When I click on attach absolutely nothing happens at all.

Hi, I am running a windows 10 with Thunderbird version 157.0.1 (64bit) IMAP version. I am having problems with quite a few of my old messages not wanting to open when I click on them. This is the message that pops up (Server mail.daystar.io has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem.) mail.daystar.io is my carrier.

Using Thunderbird 115.18.0esr Supernova 64-bit on Mac laptop OS 10.13.6. Worked fine for years, with ongoing Thunderbird updates, even though Mac OS is 32-bit. Suddenly, after 10/6/26 can't retrieve emails although I can see them on the ATT Yahoo server website. Can still send emails with Thunderbird. Inbound server settings are: POP server inbound.att.net, Port 995, SSL/TLS, Normal Password (I long ago created a Secure Mail Key, and even tried creating a new one). But inbound server name doesn't show in Saved Passwords (only outbound server with Secure Mail Key as password)? I have tried everything suggested, repaired my inbox folder, updated Thunderbird files, etc. in Profile as recommended. But still no prompt for password when attempting to get messages. Just shows "Done" at bottom left with no new messages received. But new messages are seen on server website. So it appears that Thunderbird isn't able to connect to the ATT Yahoo server to get emails. Why? And what else can I do? I love Thunderbird and want to continue using it.

I have down loaded the latest version of Thunder Bird. The program still has my settings to access my e-mail. For some reason every time I try and read my e-mail the program locks up and I have to do a Task Manager to stop the program Any and all comments would be appreciated. Thanks Dave

When starting thunderbird without a working internet connection, I get an annoying amount of dialog windows reminding me for each email message box/server that the connection can't be estabilshed. The german text is „Verbindung mit Server <server> konnte nicht hergestellt werden.“ (sorry, dont have the english one..., its basically „connection to server <server> couldnt be established“). One has to click "ok" on each of these warnings and there seems to be no possibility to silence them. I mean, I know that I don't have internet (or know that the internet is buggy atm, even if I retry to get messages.) To have a message at all could be okay, but it very much interferes with reading messages (which works fine with buggy internet...) as they just pop up. I even couldn't find any settings or configuration in the configuration list searching for anything containing „dialog“ or „connect“ (which would be my/the expected place for silencing any dialogs regarding connection issues.)

How can I get Thunderbird getting to work with me again and not interfering with workflow?

Thunderbird will not let me move messages to the trash folder. If I do move a message to the trash bin the message will re-appear in the in-box. I have tried to follow the steps in the Mozilla support website but that did not work. When I try to delete a message I get the following:

The current operation on "inbox" did not succeed. The mail server for account rex@rexperry.com responded: [TRYCREATE] Mailbox doesn't exist: INBOX/ Trash (0.001+0.000 secs).

I am using an HP desktop machine running W11. This problem did not happen until I switched to the W11 machine.

ever since last update... can't send emails

Send Message Error Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: E5rTxqhwZYbiPE5rUxBTZm DMARC Policy Enforcement: https://postmaster.comcast.net/smtp-error-codes.php#ODM00001. Please check the message and try again.

I tried to add my Outlook account to Thunderbird, I entered my details and clicked Continue but it stuck in the "Looking up configuration" screen. I then tried doing manual configuration and entered outlook's IMAP and SMTP server but there's an error message that said "Failed logging in to server" and when I try again it became "Incoming server already exists." An OAuth2 popup appears only after I closed Thunderbird and since Thunderbird is already closed the address it's trying to return to (127.0.0.1:41003) is no longer monitored.

Today TB froze during start up. No problems yesterday.

I deleted global-messages-db.sqlite and restarted TB. Now it is frozen with a "Loading messages". Maybe it is rebuilding indexes and this takes a long time and I should be patient.

Maybe my In and Sent mail boxes are too big? If so, how can I safely prune them?

TB is becoming increasingly unstable for me. It was very reliable before about a month ago.

I doubt my AV is the culprit because AV has not changed today.

I like the new support for Outlook. Thank you very much. This was the first year that I did not spend >16 hours rebuilding accounts each January. It is also nice that this support automatically transfered incoming emails to the Local Inbox.

Just recently, Spectrum Internet dropped POP3 support and I was able to setup IMAP.

Gee, It would be nice if there was just one more checkbox in the Account Setup which would automatically transfer IMAP messages to the Local Inbox.

Can this be added to the wish list?

Musste einen Beitrag für Zeitschrift verfassen, lässt sich nicht an Mail anhängen. Sowohl "Anhängen" wie auch "anbei" reagiert nicht. Wie kann ich meinen Abgabe-Termin dennocheinhalten??? Mail funktioniert, aber Anhang fehlt natürlich
