All of my saved email is gone. Am presently using O/S Linux Mint Cinnamon v19.3, since about March, 2021 and learning the different system is daunting. All I know there are not any saved email except maybe two (2) or three (3) since the last update for Thunderbird, am in v102.2.2 at this time.

Have attempted to find where those mailboxes are stored but not seen where told they should be, ".thunderbird/~" is not found.

New address book in 102.2.2 on Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.3, the line spacing when in density->compact is overlapping text. To get it looking right, density->touch works, but that changes all the other parts of the UI line the email threads and folder thread panes. Even the middle density setting overlaps a bit. I have another PC with Windows 10 installed and that address book spacing is not overlapping. This is a new profile. I imported a vcf file to get addresses. Changing the theme in Linux does not change the appearance. I have set the default font in Linux to 16pt. I'm using a 1920x1080 screen and need the font larger in Linux to make all applications readable. Other than the address book appearance, the remainder of the UI character spacing and line spacing is okay, not matter what density I use. I just prefer compact, it uses less space on the screen.

I somehow ended up with two inboxes, one below lkoskela@email.com and the other below lkoskela@mail.com(IMAX). These were both receiving different emails. I called mail.com support and he took over control and removed everything under lkoskela@mail.com (IMAX). This left me without a Spam folder or a Saved folder. I decided to uninstall Thunderbird and re-install it. I tested the new installation by calling a friend and having her send an email. It never arrived in Thunderbird but when I logged on to mail.com on the net it was there. I hope this makes sense to you because I'm thoroughly confused.

I need to import a bunch of old emails that are in a mbox file. I can import them to a local folder - but I then REALLY need to just have all those messages run through the filters I've setup for my account. That will spread them out to the various folders I keep things sorted in.

Is there any way of doing this?

I was being nagged to update Thunderbird so did so via download & install as instructed (there was a message 'we will guide you through the update'). That did not happen but I installed 102.2.2 Everything seemed fine except the message pane in lower half of screen is now blank even when I click on an email in the list above. Have tried 'repair' but that had no effect. This is irritating, as the only way I can read my remails is to right click on one and select 'reply' or 'forward' ... it then appears as a new reply and I can see it. But in the upper pane that email rema\ins in bold, ie, unread. I am still getting reminders to upgrade even though 'About Thunderbird' indicates I have the latest version. Hope you can help with this!

New info; Some of the folders were moved. Was able to recover Inbox and Archives by selecting Recent Folders. Still have not recovered Sent emails. Other folders still missing.

I can receive emails on email#2,3,4,5 the problem is I can only send messages on email #1 When I go to accounts. - edit smtp server all the 5 user names default to the same user name ( last line) . Which ever user name I put in is the email that I can send emails out. for ex. if the user name is email1@xxx.com I can only send emails out on email 1. if the user name is email3@xxx.com I can only send emails out on email 3 . On the SMTP server edit page ----- Description : office 365 Server name: outlook.office365.com Port: 587 Connection security: STARTTLS AUTHENTICATION: normal password User name: email1@xxx.com I s there a way to separate the user names of the 5 emails

I can open Thunderbird but it is 'stuck', I have no control over it. If I try to close it I get a message that Mozilla Thunderbird is not responding. I disabled all addons and restarted with the same result. Attempting to start in troubleshooting mode I receive this error in the console: console.warn: services.settings: Failed to load last_modified.json: TypeError: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource. And the window never appears.

OS: Xubuntu 20.04

There have been several updates to Thunderbird recently, in quick succession. Version 102.2.2 nixed my bookmarks, which I think were restored in version 102.3.0 - now version 102.3.1 has lost them again. (This sequence might not be strictly accurate: it's difficult to keep track of Thunderbird's many updates.)

The bookmarks toolbar is enabled.

The 'Add Bookmark' button shows and seems to be working, but the bookmarks don't appear anywhere. The 'more' button adjacent produces a sort of greyed-out caret mark when the down arrow is clicked and again nothing happens (or is hidden from sight!).

Now bookmarks are not vital to my work, but they are very useful and it would be good to get them back. I do recall seeing somewhere a reference to toolbars being 'lost' or squashed out in some way, but can't now find the source. Any ideas?

I don't want to 'refresh' T because it took a long time to get all my settings and preferences right.

All of a sudden I'm missing all the folders I created to store messages. My Deleted Items is empty. I had files there and moved one back to the Inbox, now it's nowhere to be found. Deleted Items weren't showing in the Trash or Deleted Items, I did something and all of a sudden all deleted Items were back, but now everything is gone except the inbox and a few folders.

I think it's after TB updated past version 100 that only selective addresses appear when I start typing in a contact's name in the address field. I haven't changed anything in Settings, but for Addressing it's set to use "Local Address Books" when addressing messages and the default startup directory is "All Address Books." Based on what I can discern it looks like it's not suggesting any addresses from Gmail. There are in fact 2 Gmail accounts connected to TB and they show up in the Address Book. If the side bar is enabled these address books show up and are searchable. Any ideas?

An e-mail message from a regular sender, to which I have often replied, including a week ago, suddenly end up in the junk folder. It is quite possible that during that week I have tagged one or two rather different messages as junk, but isn't it rather obvious that mail from regular senders to which one regularly replies should not be junked unless specifically tagged as junk by the recipient? Such an erratic junk filter behavior makes Thunderbird a rather unreliable mail client.

Which is not ok. They are just on a different list. HELP How can I add people to an existing list, and how can I delete them from the list without deleting them from my address book! I'm sure if the error is with hughesnet or thunderbird so I thought it would be good to check with both.
